Setup Guide

1. Initial Setup & Connectivity

The DAREU EK87PRO offers three connection modes: 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.1, and wired USB-C. Select your preferred mode using the switch on the left side of the keyboard.

2.4GHz Wireless Connection:

Locate the 2.4GHz USB dongle, typically stored in a magnetic slot on the side of the keyboard. Plug the dongle into an available USB port on your computer. Slide the keyboard's side switch to the 2.4GHz wireless mode (indicated by a square icon).

Bluetooth Connection:

Slide the keyboard's side switch to the Bluetooth mode (indicated by "BT"). On your device (PC, tablet, smartphone), enable Bluetooth and search for "DAREU EK87PRO". Select the keyboard to pair. The keyboard can store up to 3 Bluetooth connections (FN+1, FN+2, FN+3) and switch between them.

Wired USB-C Connection:

Connect the provided USB-C cable to the port on the back of the keyboard and the other end to your computer. The keyboard will automatically switch to wired mode.

2. Adjusting Keyboard Profile

The keyboard features two-stage adjustable feet on the underside, allowing you to set your preferred typing angle for ergonomic comfort.

Operating Instructions

1. RGB Lighting Control

The EK87PRO features south-facing RGB lighting with 26 preset modes and 16.8 million customizable colors. Use the following key combinations to control the lighting:

• FN + ↑: Increase brightness
• FN + ↓: Decrease brightness
• FN + {[: Change backlight colors
• FN + }]: Change backlight effects

2. Key Customization & Macros

All macros and key functions are customizable through the DAREU driver software. Download the official driver from the DAREU website to access advanced settings for key remapping, macro creation, and lighting synchronization.

3. Hot-Swapping Switches

The keyboard's hot-swappable PCB supports both 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches, allowing you to easily change switches without soldering. Use the included keycap puller and switch puller to remove and replace switches.

Steps:

1. Gently pull the keycap using the keycap puller.
2. Use the switch puller to carefully grip the switch and pull it straight up.
3. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB and press down firmly until it clicks into place.
4. Replace the keycap.

Maintenance

Cleaning:

Regularly clean your keyboard to maintain performance and appearance. Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keycaps. For deeper cleaning, carefully remove keycaps and wipe the surface with a damp cloth (ensure the keyboard is disconnected and dry before reassembly).

Switch Care:

The HIFI Dream switches are pre-lubed for smooth operation. Avoid excessive force when removing or inserting switches to prevent damage to the pins or PCB sockets.

Troubleshooting

Connectivity Issues:

• If wireless connection is unstable, ensure the dongle is securely plugged in and the keyboard is within range.
• For Bluetooth pairing issues, try forgetting the device on your computer/tablet and re-pairing.
• Ensure the keyboard is fully charged.

Lighting Problems:

• If RGB lights are not working, check brightness settings (FN+↑).
• Ensure the driver software is up-to-date if using custom lighting profiles.

Key Not Responding:

• For hot-swappable switches, try removing and re-inserting the switch to ensure proper contact.
• If the issue persists, consider replacing the switch.
