SHAHE Single Needle Dial Tension Gauge ATN-0.3-1 Instruction Manual

Model: ATN-0.3-1 | Brand: SHAHE

1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the proper use and care of your SHAHE Single Needle Dial Tension Gauge, model ATN-0.3-1. This precision instrument is designed for measuring mechanical pressure, such as the contact point pressure of electronic switches, micro switches, valves, and spring tension. Please read this manual thoroughly before operation to ensure accurate measurements and prolong the life of your device.

2. Product Overview

The SHAHE ATN-0.3-1 is a compact and portable dial tension gauge featuring a mechanical dial for direct and accurate readings. Its single needle design provides clear indication of the measured force. The outer contour of the dial can be rotated to zero for calibration before use.

3. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the tension gauge from its packaging. Inspect the device for any signs of damage during transit.
  2. Familiarization: Observe the dial, the measuring needle, and the overall construction. Note the model number (ATN-0.3-1) and serial number on the back of the unit.
  3. Zero Adjustment: Before each use, ensure the gauge reads zero when no force is applied. If the needle is not at zero, gently rotate the outer contour of the dial until the needle aligns with the zero mark.

4. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for accurate tension measurement:

  1. Hold the Gauge: Hold the tension gauge firmly in one hand, ensuring a stable grip.
  2. Apply Force: Position the measuring needle against the object or component whose tension or pressure you wish to measure. Apply force gradually and smoothly.
  3. Read the Measurement: As force is applied, the needle on the dial will move. Read the value indicated by the needle directly on the dial. The gauge measures in Newtons (N).
  4. Release Force: Once the measurement is taken, slowly release the force. The needle will return to zero (if properly calibrated).
  5. Repeat for Accuracy: For critical measurements, repeat the process multiple times and average the readings to ensure accuracy.

Important Notes:

  • Do not exceed the maximum measured value of 0.3N to prevent damage to the instrument.
  • Ensure the gauge is applied perpendicularly to the surface being measured for consistent results.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Keep the gauge clean and free from dust and debris. Wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the tension gauge in its original protective case when not in use. Keep it in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and corrosive substances.
  • Handling: Handle the instrument with care. Avoid dropping or subjecting it to strong impacts, as this can affect its accuracy and functionality.
  • Calibration: Regular calibration by a qualified technician is recommended to maintain measurement accuracy, especially after prolonged use or if accuracy is suspected to be compromised.

6. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Inaccurate readingsGauge not zeroed; improper application of force; damage to internal mechanism.Perform zero adjustment; ensure perpendicular force application; contact support for repair/calibration.
Needle does not return to zeroInternal mechanism obstruction or damage; exceeding maximum load.Gently try zero adjustment; avoid exceeding maximum load; contact support.
Gauge appears stuck or stiffAccumulation of dirt; internal component issue.Clean the exterior; do not attempt to force movement; contact support.
