  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.

4. Setup and Installation

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the oven from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future transport or storage. Inspect the oven for any signs of damage.
  2. Placement: Place the oven on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface. Ensure adequate clearance (at least 4 inches) on all sides and above the oven for proper ventilation. Do not place near flammable materials.
  3. Power Connection: Ensure the power supply matches the oven's requirements (120V/1800W). Plug the oven into a grounded electrical outlet.
  4. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the interior and accessories with a damp cloth. Run the oven empty for approximately 15 minutes at maximum temperature to burn off any manufacturing residues. A slight odor or smoke is normal during this initial burn-in.
  5. Accessory Installation: Insert the baking pans and wire racks into the desired tiers. The racks can be easily detached and assembled using the thumb screws for flexible arrangement.

5. Operation

The CROSSON CCO-68L oven features simple knob controls for temperature and time settings.

5.1 Control Panel

The control panel typically includes:

  • Temperature Control Knob: Adjusts the oven temperature from 190°F to 575°F (90°C to 300°C).
  • Timer Control Knob: Sets the cooking duration up to 60 minutes. The oven will automatically turn off when the timer expires.
  • Power Indicator Light: Illuminates when the oven is powered on.
  • Heating Indicator Light: Illuminates when the heating elements are active and turns off when the set temperature is reached.
  • Interior Light Switch: Controls the internal oven light for visibility.

5.2 Cooking Procedure

  1. Preheat: Turn the Temperature Control Knob to the desired temperature. Turn the Timer Control Knob to a preheat duration (e.g., 10-15 minutes). The Heating Indicator Light will illuminate.
  2. Load Food: Once the oven reaches the set temperature (Heating Indicator Light turns off), carefully place your food on the baking trays or wire racks inside the oven. Use oven mitts.
  3. Set Cooking Time: Turn the Timer Control Knob to the required cooking duration. The oven will begin cooking.
  4. Monitor Cooking: Use the interior light and the double-layer glass door to monitor the cooking progress without opening the door.
  5. Completion: When the timer reaches zero, the oven will automatically turn off. Carefully remove the cooked food using oven mitts.

Note on Convection: The bi-directional fan ensures even heat distribution. For optimal results, avoid blocking the fan vents and ensure food items are not excessively crowded on the racks.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your oven and ensure optimal performance.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the oven and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Interior: Wipe the interior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and mild soapy water. For stubborn stains, a non-abrasive oven cleaner designed for commercial ovens can be used, following the product instructions. Ensure all cleaner residue is removed.
  • Exterior: Clean the exterior stainless steel surfaces with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Dry thoroughly to prevent water spots.
  • Glass Door: Clean the tempered glass door with a glass cleaner or soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the glass.

6.2 Accessory Cleaning

  • Racks and Pans: The baking pans and wire racks can be detached using the thumb screws. Wash them in warm soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly. They are generally not dishwasher safe unless specified.

6.3 Long-Term Storage

If storing the oven for an extended period, ensure it is clean and dry. Store in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging.
