Compatibility

The Dexnor Keyboard Case is compatible with the following iPad 10.2-inch models:

  • iPad 9th Generation (2021): Models A2602, A2603, A2604, A2605
  • iPad 8th Generation (2020): Models A2270, A2428, A2429, A2430
  • iPad 7th Generation (2019): Models A2197, A2198, A2200

Note: iPad and Apple Pencil are not included.

Setup

1. Attaching Your iPad to the Case

  1. Gently place your iPad into the detachable rear case. Ensure all edges are securely fitted.
  2. The rear case, with your iPad inside, magnetically attaches to the keyboard base. Align the iPad with the magnetic hinge until it snaps into place.
  3. Adjust the viewing angle by tilting the iPad. The durable aluminum alloy hinge allows for a floating cantilever support with customizable angles for typing, reading, or viewing.

2. Detaching Your iPad from the Case

To detach, simply pull the iPad (still in its rear protective case) away from the magnetic hinge. The rear case can be used independently to protect your iPad.

3. Pairing the Keyboard via Bluetooth

  1. Ensure the keyboard is charged.
  2. Turn on the keyboard using the power switch. The Bluetooth indicator light will flash.
  3. On your iPad, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
  4. Turn on Bluetooth. Your iPad will search for available devices.
  5. Select "Dexnor Keyboard" (or similar name) from the list of devices.
  6. Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process. The indicator light on the keyboard will stop flashing once successfully paired.

Operating Instructions

1. Multi-Touch Trackpad

The integrated trackpad supports multi-finger gestures, providing a laptop-like experience for navigation and control.

  • Single Finger Tap: Click/Select
  • Two Finger Scroll: Scroll up/down or left/right
  • Two Finger Pinch: Zoom in/out
  • Three Finger Swipe Up: Open App Switcher
  • Three Finger Swipe Down: Return to Home Screen
  • Three Finger Swipe Left/Right: Switch between open apps

2. Backlight Control

The keyboard features 7 solid color backlights and 3 adjustable brightness levels for comfortable typing in various lighting conditions.

  • Press the Light Bulb key to turn the backlight on/off.
  • Press Fn + Light Bulb key to cycle through brightness levels (Low, Medium, High, Off).
  • Press Fn + RGB key to cycle through the 7 backlight colors.

3. Shortcut Keys

A full row of shortcut keys provides quick access to media controls, volume, and other functions.

  • Home: Return to home screen
  • Search: Activate search function
  • Brightness +/-: Adjust screen brightness
  • Media Controls: Play/Pause, Previous Track, Next Track
  • Volume Controls: Mute, Volume Down, Volume Up
  • Lock Screen: Lock your iPad

4. Charging the Keyboard

The keyboard is equipped with a 650 mAh battery, providing up to 200 hours of working time and 1200 hours of standby time on a single charge. Recharge time is approximately 3.5 hours.

  • Connect the included USB-C cable to the charging port on the keyboard.
  • Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  • The charging indicator light will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged.

5. Automatic Sleep/Wake Function

The keyboard case features an automatic sleep/wake function to conserve battery life. When you close the case, the iPad and keyboard will enter sleep mode. Opening the case will wake them up.

Maintenance

  • Keep the keyboard case away from liquids and extreme temperatures.
  • Clean the surface of the case and keys with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Ensure the charging port is free from dust and debris.
  • When not in use for extended periods, fully charge the keyboard and store it in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting

Keyboard Not Connecting

  • Ensure the keyboard is powered on and fully charged.
  • Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your iPad.
  • Forget the device in your iPad's Bluetooth settings and attempt to re-pair.
  • Restart both your iPad and the keyboard.

Trackpad Not Responding

  • Ensure the keyboard is connected via Bluetooth.
  • Check iPadOS settings for trackpad functionality and ensure it's enabled.
  • Clean the trackpad surface to remove any obstructions.

Backlight Not Working

  • Ensure the keyboard is powered on.
  • Press the Light Bulb key to activate the backlight.
  • Check battery level; low battery may disable backlight.
