Starting the Engine:

  3. Prime the carburetor by pressing the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible.
  4. Set the choke lever to the "FULL CHOKE" position (cold start).
  5. Pull the starter rope firmly and smoothly until the engine attempts to start (usually 1-3 pulls).
  6. Once the engine "pops" or briefly starts, move the choke lever to the "HALF CHOKE" or "RUN" position.
  7. Pull the starter rope again until the engine starts and runs smoothly.
  8. Allow the engine to warm up for 30-60 seconds before applying throttle.
  9. For warm starts, the choke may not be necessary.

General Operation Tips:

  • Always maintain a firm grip on the handles.
  • Keep bystanders and pets at a safe distance (at least 50 feet/15 meters).
  • Operate the unit at a comfortable and controlled pace.
  • Avoid hitting hard objects (rocks, metal) with cutting attachments.
  • Turn off the engine before making any adjustments or clearing debris.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your PRORUN unit. Always disconnect the spark plug wire before performing any maintenance.

  • Air Filter: Clean the air filter regularly (daily or after every 5 hours of use) or replace if heavily soiled. A dirty air filter can reduce engine performance.
  • Spark Plug: Inspect the spark plug periodically. Clean or replace if fouled or worn. Ensure the gap is set correctly.
  • Fuel Filter: Check and replace the fuel filter annually or if fuel flow is restricted.
  • Gearbox Lubrication: For attachments with gearboxes (e.g., hedge trimmer, edger), check and replenish grease as recommended in the specific attachment manual.
  • Cutting Attachments:
    • String Trimmer: Replace trimmer line as needed.
    • Brush Cutter Blade: Sharpen or replace the blade when it becomes dull or damaged.
    • Hedge Trimmer Blades: Keep blades sharp and lubricated. Remove sap and debris after each use.
  • General Cleaning: Keep the engine and cooling fins free of dirt and debris to prevent overheating.
  • Storage: For long-term storage, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area.
