Safety Information
Always read and understand this manual before operating the generator. Failure to follow instructions can result in serious injury or death. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Generators produce carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. Operate generators outdoors only, far away from windows, doors, and vents. Never operate indoors or in enclosed spaces.
- Electrical Shock Hazard: Do not operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure all connections are dry and secure. Use a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) when operating in damp locations.
- Fire Hazard: Fuel is highly flammable. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke or allow open flames near the generator. Store fuel in approved containers.
- Hot Surfaces: The generator's engine and muffler become very hot during operation and remain hot for a period after shutdown. Avoid contact with hot surfaces to prevent burns.
- Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the generator during operation.
- Proper Grounding: Always ensure the generator is properly grounded before use to prevent electrical shock.
Setup
1. Unpacking and Initial Inspection
Carefully remove the generator from its packaging. Inspect for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. Ensure all components listed in the packing list are present.
2. Adding Engine Oil
The generator is shipped without engine oil. Before first use, add the recommended type and amount of oil. Refer to the specifications section for oil type and capacity.
- Place the generator on a level surface.
- Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick.
- Remove the cap and slowly pour the recommended oil into the crankcase until it reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
- Securely replace the oil fill cap.
3. Adding Fuel
Use only fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not use E85 or a gasoline/oil mixture.
- Ensure the generator engine is off and cool.
- Move the generator to a well-ventilated outdoor area for refueling.
- Unscrew the fuel cap slowly to release any pressure.
- Carefully pour gasoline into the fuel tank, avoiding overfilling. Leave space for fuel expansion.
- Securely replace the fuel cap. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.
4. Grounding the Generator
For safe operation, the generator must be properly grounded. Connect a ground wire from the generator's ground terminal to a suitable earth ground rod.
Operating Instructions

Image: Detailed view of the generator's control panel, showing the run/stop switch, LED alarms, AC reset, AC breakers, various outlets (20A, 30A, 12V DC), Eco switch, DC breaker, and parallel operation outlets.
1. Starting the Generator
- Ensure the generator is on a level surface and properly grounded.
- Turn the engine switch to the "ON" position.
- If the engine is cold, move the choke lever to the "CHOKE" position.
- Pull the recoil starter handle firmly and smoothly until the engine starts.
- Once the engine starts, slowly move the choke lever to the "RUN" position.
- Allow the generator to warm up for a few minutes before connecting electrical loads.
2. Connecting Electrical Loads
Connect appliances or tools to the appropriate AC outlets (120V 20A or 120V 30A RV-ready). Do not overload the generator. Monitor the digital display for voltage and frequency.

3. Eco Mode Operation
The Eco mode switch allows the generator to automatically adjust engine speed to match the load, improving fuel efficiency and reducing noise. For maximum power or starting high-load appliances, turn Eco mode off.
4. Parallel Operation
This generator is parallel capable, allowing you to connect two identical PowerSmart inverter generators for increased power output. A parallel kit (sold separately) is required for this operation.
- Ensure both generators are off and cool.
- Connect the parallel kit cables to the designated parallel operation outlets on both generators.
- Start both generators according to the standard starting procedure.
- Once both generators are running stably, you can connect your loads to the parallel kit's outlets.

5. Stopping the Generator
- Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
- Allow the generator to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
- Turn the engine switch to the "OFF" position.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "OFF" position (if applicable).
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and reliable operation of your generator. Always perform maintenance with the engine off and cool.
Maintenance Schedule:
| Item | Before Each Use | Every 25 Hours / Monthly | Every 100 Hours / Annually |
|---|---|---|---|
| Engine Oil Level | Check | Change | |
| Air Filter | Check | Clean | Replace |
| Spark Plug | Inspect | Clean/Adjust/Replace | |
| Fuel Filter | Inspect/Replace | ||
| Fuel Tank & Line | Inspect |
Storage:
If storing the generator for more than 30 days, prepare it for storage to prevent fuel degradation and engine damage.
- Add a fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank and run the engine for a few minutes to circulate it.
- Drain the fuel from the carburetor by opening the drain screw (if applicable) or run the engine until it runs out of fuel.
- Change the engine oil.
- Remove the spark plug and pour a small amount of engine oil into the cylinder. Pull the recoil starter a few times to distribute the oil, then reinstall the spark plug.
- Clean the exterior of the generator.
- Store in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
