4. Setup

4.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the headlamp. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the headlamp's charging port and plug the other end into a compatible USB power source (e.g., AC adapter, power bank, computer USB port). The charging indicator light will be red during charging and turn green when fully charged. Charging typically takes approximately two hours.

4.2 Adjusting the Headband

The elastic headband is adjustable to fit various head sizes. Slide the buckles on the headband to achieve a comfortable and secure fit. The headlamp unit can be tilted up to 45 degrees to direct the light beam as needed.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power Button and Mode Selection

The headlamp features a main power button to cycle through its normal lighting modes:

  1. Press once for XPG White Light (Spotlight).
  2. Press again for COB White Light (Floodlight).
  3. Press again for XPG + COB White Light (Spotlight & Floodlight combined).
  4. Press again for COB Red Light.
  5. Press again for COB Red Light SOS (flashing).
  6. Press again to turn the headlamp OFF.

If the headlamp remains in any mode for more than 8 seconds, a single press will turn it off directly, without cycling through the remaining modes.

5.2 Stepless Dimming

In any white light mode (XPG, COB, or XPG+COB), press and hold the main power button to activate stepless dimming. The brightness will gradually adjust between 100% and 30%. Release the button at your desired brightness level. The light will blink once when it reaches the minimum or maximum intensity before reversing direction.

5.3 Motion Sensor Control

The headlamp includes a motion sensor button for hands-free operation:

  1. Press the sensor button (usually indicated by a wave icon) to activate sensor mode. The headlamp will enter one of the three sensor modes: XPG White Light, COB White Light, or XPG + COB White Light.
  2. Once in sensor mode, wave your hand within 15 cm (approximately 6 inches) in front of the headlamp to turn the light on or off.
  3. Press the sensor button again to exit sensor mode and return to normal operation.

6. Charging

The Blukar Headlamp is equipped with a 1200mAh rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery. To charge:

  1. Locate the USB-C charging port on the headlamp.
  2. Insert the provided USB-C cable into the port.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable to a standard USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, computer, power bank).
  4. The charging indicator light will illuminate red during charging.
  5. Once fully charged, the indicator light will turn green. Disconnect the cable.

Battery Runtime: The headlamp can provide over 20 hours of runtime on lower settings. On higher settings or combined modes, runtime typically ranges from 3.5 to 5 hours. Actual runtime varies based on the selected mode and brightness level.

Important: Do not leave the headlamp charging unattended for extended periods after the indicator turns green to prevent overcharging. Avoid completely depleting the battery before recharging to prolong battery life.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • The elastic headband is detachable and washable. Remove it from the headlamp unit before washing.
  • Wipe the headlamp unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed to maintain IPX5 waterproof integrity.

7.2 Waterproofing

The headlamp has an IPX5 waterproof rating, meaning it is protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. It is suitable for use in rainy or snowy conditions but should not be submerged in water.

7.3 Battery Replacement

The internal battery is designed to be replaceable. To access the battery compartment, carefully remove two screws and unlatch the case. This allows for potential future battery servicing, extending the product's lifespan.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Headlamp not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source and check if the charging indicator lights up.
  • Light output is dim: The battery may be low. Recharge the headlamp fully. Also, check the dimming setting.
  • Motion sensor not responding: Ensure you are in a sensor mode (indicated by the sensor button's light). Wave your hand within the 15 cm detection range. Obstructions or extreme distances may affect performance.
  • Headlamp suddenly turns off: This typically indicates the battery is fully depleted. Recharge the headlamp. Note that there is no specific battery level indicator beyond the charging status.
  • Charging not working: Check the USB-C cable and power source. Try a different cable or adapter. Ensure the cable is fully inserted into the headlamp's port.
