4. Installation

4.1 General Installation Guidelines

• Position the pump on a stable, level surface near the fixtures it will serve.
• Ensure adequate space for maintenance access around the unit.
• Connect all inlet pipes from the fixtures (toilet, sink, shower, washing machine) to the designated inlets on the pump.
• Connect the discharge pipe from the pump to the main sewage line.
• Ensure all connections are secure and watertight to prevent leaks.
• The pump is designed for vertical pumping up to 36 feet and horizontal pumping up to 328 feet.

4.2 Pipe Connection Best Practices

1. The pipe connecting to the sewage outlet should be extended and raised above the main sewage pipe to avoid backflow.
2. Please refrain from disposing of objects such as key chains, sanitary napkins, plastic bags, or sharp blades into the system.
3. The pump receives wastewater through a gravitational system and does not use a vacuum for water intake. All incoming pipes must have a slight downward slope (1/4" per foot) to ensure proper drainage. Similarly, all horizontal pipes connected to the immersion device must also have a slight downward slope to allow for smooth drainage when the pump is turned off.
4. It is recommended to first install the pipes vertically and then horizontally. Whenever possible, try to avoid using right-angle elbows to minimize resistance.

5. Operation

The HOCANFLO 800W Macerator Pump operates automatically. Once properly installed and connected to power, the pump will activate when wastewater enters the unit, macerating solids and pumping the effluent to the main drainage system.

• Automatic Activation: The pump is equipped with a micro switch that detects the water level. When the water level rises to a certain point, the pump automatically starts.
• Emergency Start Switch: In case of a malfunction or for testing purposes, an emergency start switch may be present (refer to Figure 3.2.6). Use this switch with caution and only when necessary.
• Quiet Operation: The 800W copper wire motor is designed for low noise levels, typically below 39 decibels, ensuring minimal disturbance.

6.1 Routine Checks

5. Reconnect Power: Plug the pump back into the electrical outlet.
