6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning helps maintain the performance and longevity of your trackball mouse.

  1. Surface Cleaning: Wipe the surface of the mouse with a soft, damp cloth or a wet wipe to remove dust and grime.
  2. Trackball Cleaning: If the trackball movement becomes less smooth, it may need cleaning.
    • Locate the small hole on the underside of the mouse.
    • Insert a thin, non-sharp object (like a cotton swab or the back of a pen) into the hole to gently push out the trackball.
    • Clean the trackball with a soft, lint-free cloth.
    • Clean the inside of the trackball socket, removing any dust or debris from the sensors.
    • Carefully reinsert the trackball into its socket until it clicks into place.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Connection Issues: Ensure the mouse is powered on and the correct connection mode (2.4G or Bluetooth) is selected. For Bluetooth, ensure your device's Bluetooth is enabled and the mouse is paired. For Windows 7.0 and earlier, use the USB receiver.
  • Cursor Movement Issues: If the cursor is erratic or unresponsive, clean the trackball and its socket as described in the Maintenance section.
  • Charging Problems: Ensure you are using the included USB-C cable for charging, as the port may be narrow. Check that the charging cable is securely connected to both the mouse and the power source.
  • Scroll Wheel Noise: The scroll wheel may produce a slight sound during operation. This is normal for the product.
  • Button Customization: The buttons on this mouse are not programmable or customizable.
  • Precision Tasks: This trackball mouse is not ideal for highly precise operations such as professional gaming or detailed graphic design.
