Introduction
Thank you for choosing the BOVZA Full Over Full/Futon Bunk Bed. This manual provides essential information for the safe and correct assembly, operation, and maintenance of your new bunk bed. Please read all instructions carefully before beginning assembly and retain this manual for future reference.
Setup and Assembly
Assembly of this bunk bed is required. It is recommended that two adults perform the assembly. Please ensure all parts are present before beginning. Your order may arrive in multiple packages over several days. Verify all packages have been received before starting.
Package Contents
- All necessary wooden components (Pine Wood + MDF)
- Hardware kit (screws, bolts, nuts, etc.)
- Assembly instructions (refer to included paper manual for detailed diagrams)
Important Notes Before Assembly
- Tools Required: Standard household tools (e.g., screwdriver, Allen wrench) may be needed.
- Placement: Assemble the bed in the room where it will be used to avoid moving a fully assembled unit.
- Surface: Assemble on a soft, clean surface (e.g., carpet or blanket) to prevent scratching the furniture.
- Orientation: The staircase and bedside table can be placed on either the left or right side during assembly, allowing for customizable arrangements to suit your space.
- Mattress: Mattresses are not included. Recommended mattress thickness for the upper bed is 6 inches, and for the lower bed is 8 inches. No box spring is needed due to the integrated wooden slats.
Dimensions Overview
Refer to the diagram below for overall product dimensions and key measurements to assist with planning and assembly.

Assembly Steps
- Unpack and Identify Parts: Carefully unpack all components and lay them out. Compare them against the parts list in your included paper manual to ensure nothing is missing or damaged.
- Assemble Base Frames: Begin by assembling the base frames for both the upper and lower beds according to the diagrams. Ensure all connections are secure but do not fully tighten bolts until instructed.
- Attach Support Slats: Install the wooden slats for both bed frames. These slats provide mattress support and eliminate the need for a box spring.
- Construct Staircase and Storage: Assemble the staircase unit, including the integrated shelves and the three storage drawers. Pay attention to the orientation if you are choosing a left or right side placement.
- Connect Components: Attach the assembled bed frames to the staircase and any other support structures.
- Final Tightening: Once all components are in place and aligned, systematically tighten all bolts and screws. Do not overtighten.
- Safety Check: Before use, ensure all connections are firm and the bed is stable.

Operating Instructions
Converting the Lower Futon Bed
The lower bed features a convertible design, allowing it to function as a daybed (sitting position) or a full-size bed (sleeping position).
- To convert to Daybed (Sitting Position): Gently lift the lightweight seat portion of the futon and adjust it into the upright, sitting position. Ensure it locks securely into place.
- To convert to Full Bed (Sleeping Position): Release the locking mechanism (if applicable, refer to specific futon mechanism instructions) and lower the seat portion until it lies flat, forming a full-size sleeping surface. Ensure it is fully extended and stable.

Using Storage Features
- Staircase Shelves: The integrated staircase provides open shelving for storing books, decorative items, or other daily necessities. Ensure items are placed securely and do not obstruct the stairs.
- Under-Bed Drawers: Three drawers are located beneath the lower bed. Pull them out gently to access storage space for clothing, linens, or other personal items. Push them back in fully when not in use.

Maintenance and Care
Proper care will ensure the longevity and appearance of your BOVZA bunk bed.
- Cleaning: Wipe surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or polishes that may damage the finish.
- Dusting: Regularly dust the bed frame with a dry, soft cloth.
- Hardware Check: Periodically check all bolts, screws, and fasteners to ensure they remain tight. Retighten as necessary to maintain structural integrity and safety.
- Avoid Excessive Weight: Do not exceed the recommended weight capacity for each bed (600 lbs for upper and lower). Avoid placing excessive weight on shelves or drawers.
- Sunlight Exposure: Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can cause fading or discoloration of the wood finish.
- Moisture: Protect the furniture from excessive moisture and humidity.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your bunk bed, please refer to the following common solutions:
- Bed feels unstable or rocks:
- Ensure all fasteners (bolts, screws) were securely tightened during assembly.
- Periodically check and retighten all hardware to maintain stability.
- Verify the bed is placed on a level surface. Uneven flooring can cause rocking.
- For added security, consider anchoring the bunk bed to a wall using appropriate hardware (not included).
- Assembly instructions are unclear or parts are difficult to identify:
- Refer to the detailed diagrams in the included paper manual.
- Ensure all parts are correctly oriented before fastening.
- If parts are mislabeled or missing, contact BOVZA customer support for assistance.
- Integrated shelves or tables appear weak or have broken:
- Avoid placing excessive weight on the shelves or applying undue force.
- Ensure all supporting hardware for these components was correctly installed and tightened during assembly.
- If damage occurs, contact customer support for replacement parts or repair advice.
- Drawers do not slide smoothly:
- Check for any obstructions in the drawer glides.
- Ensure the drawers are correctly aligned within their tracks.
- Verify that the drawer slides were installed correctly during assembly.
