Pknight ArtNet DMX Ethernet Lighting Controller Interface CR021R User Manual

Model: CR021R

1. Product Overview

The Pknight ArtNet DMX Ethernet Lighting Controller Interface CR021R is a robust and compact device designed for professional lighting control. It functions as a 2-universe bidirectional Art-Net to DMX512 node, offering flexible control over DMX-compatible lighting fixtures. Key features include PowerCON for stable power, PoE (Power over Ethernet) capability for simplified wiring, and a truss-mountable design for versatile installation.

Key Features:

  • PowerCON Version: Equipped with an internal transformer for stable power supply, supporting 90~240V input with grounding for safety and allowing for long cable lengths.
  • Easy Setup: Features an LED display and four function buttons for direct configuration without requiring external applications or web interfaces for basic settings.
  • Truss Mountable: Includes an M10 screw hole on the top for easy installation on a truss using a stage light clamp hook (clamp hook not included).
  • Remote Configuration: Supports remote configuration of IP address, subnet mask, Net address, Subnet address, and Port Universe via DMX Workshop software.
  • PoE Available: Can be powered via PoE (Power over Ethernet) using a standard 48V PoE switch (1 2 3 6 pins power supply), eliminating the need for a separate power cable.

2. Safety Information

  • Always ensure proper grounding when using the PowerCON input (90~240V) due to high voltage.
  • Do not expose the device to rain or moisture.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit to prevent overheating.
  • Only use specified power sources (PowerCON 90-240V or 48V PoE switch).
  • Avoid blocking the LED display or control buttons during operation.
  • Disconnect power before cleaning or maintenance.

3. Setup

3.1 Power Connection

The CR021R offers two power options: PowerCON or Power over Ethernet (PoE).

  • PowerCON: Connect a PowerCON cable to the PowerCON inlet on the device. Ensure the power source is within the 90-240V range and properly grounded.
  • PoE: Connect an Ethernet cable from a standard 48V PoE switch (with 1 2 3 6 pins power supply) to the PoE/ART-NET port. This will provide both power and data connectivity.

3.2 Truss Mounting

The device features an M10 screw hole for easy mounting on a truss. A stage light clamp hook (not included) is required for this installation.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all cable connections for wear or damage.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the PowerCON cable is securely connected and the power source is active, or verify the PoE switch is providing power and the Ethernet cable is properly connected.
  • No DMX Output: Check DMX cable connections. Verify the DMX universe settings on the CR021R match your lighting fixtures and the Art-Net source.
  • Network Connectivity Issues: Confirm the IP address and subnet mask are correctly configured on both the CR021R and your computer/network. Ensure all network cables are functional.
  • Device Unresponsive: Disconnect power, wait a few seconds, and then reconnect. If issues persist, perform a factory reset via the DMX Workshop software (refer to remote configuration video for guidance).
