Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Keurig K-Express.
Cleaning the Exterior
Wipe the exterior of the brewer with a damp, soapy cloth. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Do not immerse the brewer in water.
Cleaning the Drip Tray
The drip tray can accumulate spills. Remove the drip tray and wash it with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. The drip tray is not dishwasher safe.
Descaling Your Brewer
Over time, calcium deposits (scale) can build up in your brewer. The DESCALE indicator light will illuminate when descaling is recommended. Follow the descaling instructions provided with a Keurig® Descaling Solution (sold separately) or refer to the full Keurig® K-Express manual for detailed steps.

Water Filter (Sold Separately)
For best results, use a Keurig® Water Filter. Replace the water filter every 2 months or 60 tank refills. Note that a separate water filter holder is required to use charcoal filters.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Brewer not powering on | Not plugged in, power outlet issue. | Ensure brewer is securely plugged into a grounded outlet. Check if the outlet is working. |
| No water dispensing | Water reservoir empty, air in lines, brewer needs descaling. | Fill water reservoir. Perform a cleansing brew. Descale the brewer if the DESCALE light is on. |
| Coffee tastes weak or watery | Incorrect brew size selected, K-Cup® pod not properly punctured, brewer needs descaling. | Select a smaller brew size. Ensure K-Cup® pod is seated correctly and handle is fully lowered. Use the Strong Brew option. Descale the brewer. |
