Setup

1. Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge your Rider 460. Connect the supplied USB cable to the device's charging port and to a USB power adapter or computer USB port. The battery indicator on the screen will show charging status.

2. Mounting the Device

Attach the bike mount to your bicycle's handlebar or stem using the provided straps or O-rings. Ensure the mount is secure and the device can be easily inserted and removed. Insert the Rider 460 into the mount and twist it clockwise until it locks into place.

3. Initial Power On and Language Selection

Press and hold the power button (located on the left side) to turn on the device. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your preferred language and initial settings.

4. Pairing with Bryton Active App

Download the Bryton Active app from your smartphone's app store. Open the app, create an account, and follow the instructions to pair your Rider 460 via Bluetooth. This app allows for data synchronization, route planning, and device customization.

5. Sensor Pairing (Optional)

The Rider 460 supports ANT+ and Bluetooth sensors (e.g., speed, cadence, heart rate, power meters, bike radar, E-shifters, smart trainers). To pair a sensor:

  1. Go to the device's settings menu.
  2. Select 'Sensors' and then 'Add Sensor'.
  3. Activate your sensor (e.g., spin the wheel for a speed sensor).
  4. Select the detected sensor from the list to pair it.

Operating the Device

1. Basic Navigation

The Rider 460 provides innovative navigation assistance. You can import routes via the Bryton Active app. During a ride, the device offers turn-by-turn directions, intersection snapshots, and off-course rerouting.

2. Data Display and Customization

The 2.6-inch LCD screen provides clear visibility of your cycling data. You can customize data pages and fields through the Bryton Active app to show metrics such as speed, distance, altitude gain, heart rate, cadence, and power.

3. Climb Challenge

As you approach a climb, the Rider 460 displays graphical climb segments, showing distance, altitude, and ascent data, providing real-time insights for your climbs.

4. Quick Menu

A long press of the page-down button accesses the Quick Menu, allowing fast access to sensor status, smart notifications, current time, and controls for routes, workouts, smart trainers, and settings.

5. E-Bike Support

The Rider 460 supports Shimano Steps and ANT+ LEV e-bike systems, displaying e-bike data such as assist mode, battery level, travel range, and rear gear position.

6. Indoor Smart Trainer Control

Compatible with ANT+ FE-C indoor smart trainers, the Rider 460 can automatically adjust resistance based on your workout plan.

7. Group Ride Feature

Utilize the Bryton Active app to create Group Ride events, invite friends, share routes with Points of Interest (POIs), and track group members' real-time status.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the screen or casing.
  • Water Resistance: The Rider 460 has an IP54 rating, meaning it is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction. Do not submerge the device in water.
