1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your IMOUMLIVE 8-inch Mini Cordless Chainsaw. Please read this manual thoroughly before initial use to ensure proper handling and to prevent injury or damage.
The IMOUMLIVE 8-inch Mini Cordless Chainsaw is designed for light to medium-duty cutting tasks such as trimming branches, pruning trees, and cutting small logs. It features a brushless motor, auto-oiling system, and comes with two 3.0Ah batteries for extended use.
2. Important Safety Instructions
Always observe basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury when operating power tools.
General Safety Rules:
- Read the entire manual: Understand all instructions and warnings before operating the chainsaw.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE): Always wear safety goggles, gloves, hearing protection, and sturdy footwear. A hard hat and face shield are also recommended.
- Maintain a safe working area: Keep the area clear of bystanders, children, and pets. Ensure good footing and balance.
- Inspect the chainsaw before each use: Check for loose parts, damage, or wear. Ensure the chain is properly tensioned and lubricated.
- Avoid accidental starting: Ensure the safety lock is engaged when not cutting and remove the battery during assembly, adjustment, or cleaning.
- Do not overreach: Maintain proper footing and balance at all times.
- Be aware of kickback: Kickback can occur when the moving chain contacts an object at the upper tip of the guide bar or when the wood closes in and pinches the saw chain in the cut. Avoid cutting with the tip of the guide bar.
- Use both hands: Always operate the chainsaw with both hands firmly gripping the handles.
- Do not operate in wet conditions: Avoid using the chainsaw in rain or damp environments.
- Store safely: When not in use, store the chainsaw in a dry, secure place out of reach of children.

5.2. Guide Bar and Chain Installation
Warning: Ensure the battery is removed before performing any assembly or maintenance.
- Loosen the chain tensioner knob and remove the side cover.
- Place the saw chain around the sprocket and guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges face the correct direction (refer to chain direction indicator on the guide bar).
- Fit the guide bar onto the mounting studs, ensuring the chain is seated correctly in the guide bar groove.
- Replace the side cover and partially tighten the tensioner knob.
- Adjust the chain tension (see Section 7.2).
- Fully tighten the tensioner knob once tension is correct.
5.3. Adding Chain Oil (Auto-Oiler)
The chainsaw features an automatic oiling system. Use only high-quality bar and chain oil.
- Locate the oil reservoir cap on the top of the chainsaw body.
- Unscrew the cap and fill the reservoir with bar and chain oil. Do not overfill.
- Securely replace the cap.
- Periodically check the oil level during operation and refill as needed.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Starting the Chainsaw
- Ensure the battery is fully charged and securely inserted into the chainsaw.
- Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands.
- Press and hold the safety lock button (usually located on the side of the handle).
- While holding the safety lock, squeeze the trigger switch to start the motor.
- Release the safety lock button once the motor starts, but continue to hold the trigger for operation.

6.2. Cutting Techniques
- Always plan your cut: Identify the direction of fall and clear the area.
- Start with a stable stance: Ensure firm footing and balance.
- Engage the chain before contacting wood: Allow the chain to reach full speed before beginning the cut.
- Let the saw do the work: Apply light pressure. Forcing the saw can lead to kickback or damage.
- Avoid cutting with the tip: This is the primary cause of kickback.
- Be mindful of pinching: When cutting branches under tension, make relief cuts to prevent the saw from getting pinched.

6.3. Stopping the Chainsaw
Release the trigger switch. The chain will stop rotating. Always engage the safety lock when not actively cutting.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your chainsaw. Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance.
7.1. Cleaning
- After each use, clean sawdust and debris from the guide bar, chain, and motor housing.
- Use a brush or compressed air. Do not use water or solvents.
- Ensure the oil reservoir and cap are clean.
7.2. Chain Tension Adjustment
Proper chain tension is crucial for safe and efficient operation. A chain that is too loose can derail, and a chain that is too tight can cause excessive wear and damage.
- Loosen the side cover knob slightly.
- Turn the chain tensioner screw (usually located near the guide bar) clockwise to tighten the chain or counter-clockwise to loosen it.
- The chain is correctly tensioned when it can be pulled away from the guide bar by about 1/8 to 1/4 inch (3-6 mm) at the center, and still snaps back into place.
- Once tension is correct, firmly tighten the side cover knob.

7.3. Chain Sharpening/Replacement
- A dull chain will cut slowly and require more force. Sharpen the chain regularly using a suitable round file (refer to chain specifications for correct file size).
- If the chain is damaged or excessively worn, replace it with a new IMOUMLIVE 8-inch replacement chain.
8. Troubleshooting
