4. Setup

4.1. DC Power Supply SPS-3010 Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the power supply from its packaging and inspect for any damage.
  2. Placement: Place the power supply on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation around the cooling fan (15).
  3. Power Connection: Connect the provided AC power cord to the AC Power Inlet (16) on the rear panel and then to a grounded wall outlet.
  4. Grounding: Ensure the grounding terminal (12) is properly connected to an earth ground for safety.
  5. Initial Power On: Flip the Power Switch (14) to the 'ON' position. The displays should illuminate.

4.2. Digital Multimeter HK33D Setup

  1. Battery Installation: Open the battery compartment on the back of the multimeter and insert the required batteries, observing polarity.
  2. Test Lead Connection: Insert the red test lead into the "VΩmA" or "10A" jack (depending on measurement) and the black test lead into the "COM" jack.
  3. Power On: Rotate the function dial from "OFF" to the desired measurement function.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Operating the SPS-3010 DC Power Supply

  1. Setting Voltage:
    • Turn the Voltage Knob (Coarse) (6) to set the approximate desired voltage.
    • Use the Voltage Knob (Fine) (8) for precise adjustments.
    • Observe the Voltage Display (1) for the output voltage.
  2. Setting Current Limit:
    • Turn the Current Knob (Coarse) (7) to set the approximate desired current limit.
    • Use the Current Knob (Fine) (9) for precise adjustments.
    • The Current Display (2) shows the actual output current or the set limit when no load is connected.
  3. Connecting Load:
    • Connect the positive lead of your load to the Output Terminal + (Red) (11).
    • Connect the negative lead of your load to the Output Terminal - (Black) (13).
    • Ensure connections are secure before applying power to the load.
  4. C.V. and C.C. Mode:
    • The power supply automatically switches between Constant Voltage (C.V.) and Constant Current (C.C.) modes.
    • When the load resistance is high, the unit operates in C.V. mode (C.V. indicator (4) illuminates).
    • When the load resistance is low and the current reaches the set limit, the unit switches to C.C. mode (C.C. indicator (5) illuminates), maintaining the set current.
  5. USB Charging Port: The 5V/2A USB Charging Port (10) can be used to power or charge compatible USB devices.

5.2. Operating the HK33D Digital Multimeter

  1. Function Selection: Rotate the central dial to select the desired measurement function (e.g., V~ for AC Voltage, V- for DC Voltage, A~ for AC Current, A- for DC Current, Ω for Resistance, etc.).
  2. AC/DC Voltage Measurement:
    • Connect test leads in parallel with the circuit.
    • Select the appropriate voltage range.
  3. AC/DC Current Measurement:
    • Connect test leads in series with the circuit.
    • Ensure the correct input jack (mA or 10A) is used.
