1. Introduction

The Corsair 480T RGB is a mid-tower ATX computer case designed for optimal airflow and component visibility. It features a spacious interior, a high-airflow front panel, and tempered glass side panel. This manual provides instructions for the assembly, operation, and maintenance of your Corsair 480T RGB case.

  • High Airflow Front Panel: Features a well-perforated design to ensure efficient air intake for cooling components.

3. Physical Overview

Familiarize yourself with the various parts of the Corsair 480T RGB case.

  • Front Panel: Perforated for airflow, houses three AR120 RGB fans.
  • Top Panel: Features a magnetic dust filter and additional fan/radiator mounts.
  • Rear Panel: Includes motherboard I/O cutout, PCIe expansion slots, and an exhaust fan mount.

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your components into the Corsair 480T RGB case.

4.1. Preparing the Case

  1. Place the case on a stable, flat surface.
  2. Remove the tempered glass side panel by unscrewing the captive thumbscrews at the rear and carefully pulling the panel away.
  3. Remove the solid right side panel by unscrewing the captive thumbscrews at the rear.

4.2. Motherboard Installation

  1. Install the I/O shield (if applicable) into the rear opening of the case.
  2. Align your ATX motherboard with the pre-installed standoffs. Ensure all screw holes align.
  3. Secure the motherboard with the provided screws.

4.3. Storage Drive Installation

The case supports up to three SSDs.

  1. Locate the SSD mounting brackets behind the motherboard tray or in the PSU shroud area.
  2. Mount your 2.5-inch SSDs onto these brackets and secure them with screws.
  3. Slide the brackets back into their designated slots.

4.4. Power Supply Unit (PSU) Installation

  1. Slide your PSU into the dedicated compartment at the bottom rear of the case.
  2. Align the PSU with the screw holes at the rear of the case.
  3. Secure the PSU with screws.

4.5. Graphics Card (GPU) Installation

The case offers ample room for graphics cards up to 400mm long.

  1. Remove the necessary PCIe slot covers from the rear of the case.
  2. Insert your graphics card into the appropriate PCIe slot on your motherboard.
  3. Secure the graphics card with screws.

4.6. Fan and Radiator Installation

The case supports various fan and radiator configurations. Refer to Image 2.2 for detailed placements.

  1. Mount additional fans or radiators to the designated spots (front, top, rear) using appropriate screws.
  2. Connect fan power cables and RGB cables to your motherboard or a fan controller.

4.7. Front I/O Connections

Connect the front panel cables to your motherboard:

  • USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A (2x)
  • USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (1x)
  • HD Audio (for microphone and audio jacks)
  • Power Switch, Reset Switch, Power LED, HDD LED

4.8. Cable Management

Utilize the cable routing cutouts and tie-down points behind the motherboard tray to manage cables for a clean build and improved airflow.

5. Operating Instructions

After all components are installed and connected, replace the side panels.

  1. Connect your monitor, keyboard, mouse, and power cable to the rear of your system.
  2. Press the power button on the front I/O panel to turn on your computer.
  3. The AR120 RGB fans will illuminate, and your system should boot.
  4. Use the front USB ports for connecting peripherals or external storage devices.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure optimal performance and longevity of your computer case.

6.1. Dust Filter Cleaning

The Corsair 480T RGB includes removable dust filters to prevent dust buildup inside the case.

  • Top Filter: The top magnetic dust filter can be easily lifted off for cleaning.
  • Front Filter: The front panel can be removed to access the front dust filter for cleaning.
  • Bottom Filter: A removable dust filter is located under the PSU intake. Slide it out from the rear for cleaning.

Clean dust filters periodically using compressed air or by rinsing with water (ensure they are completely dry before reinstallation).

6.2. General Cleaning

Wipe down the exterior of the case with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.

7. Troubleshooting

  • System Not Powering On:
    • Ensure the PSU is switched on and properly connected to the wall outlet.
    • Verify all power cables (24-pin ATX, CPU, GPU) are securely connected to the motherboard and components.
    • Check that the front panel power switch cable is correctly connected to the motherboard's front panel header.
  • Fans Not Spinning / RGB Not Lighting Up:
    • Confirm fan power cables are connected to the motherboard or fan controller.
    • Ensure ARGB cables are properly connected to a compatible 3-pin ARGB header on your motherboard.
    • Check your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI or software for fan speed and RGB control settings.
  • Poor Airflow / High Temperatures:
    • Clean all dust filters as described in the Maintenance section.
    • Ensure fans are oriented correctly for optimal airflow (intake at front/bottom, exhaust at rear/top).
    • Verify that no cables are obstructing airflow paths inside the case.
  • Front USB Ports Not Working:
    • Check that the USB 3.2 Gen 1 and Gen 2 Type-C cables from the front panel are securely connected to the corresponding headers on your motherboard.
