4. Setup and Installation
The Kohree RV Water Pump and Accumulator Tank System is designed for straightforward installation. It comes as a pre-assembled unit on a mounting board.
4.1 Pre-Installation Checklist
- Ensure the power source is disconnected before beginning installation.
- Verify that all components are present and undamaged.
- Have appropriate tools ready (e.g., screwdriver, wrench, hose clamps, wiring tools).
- Confirm the installation location is dry, well-ventilated, and protected from freezing temperatures.
4.2 Mounting the System
- Select a stable, flat surface for mounting. The system's metal base with rubber feet helps reduce vibration.
- Secure the mounting board using appropriate fasteners (not included) through the designated mounting holes.
4.3 Plumbing Connections
- Connect the inlet side of the pump to your freshwater tank or water source. The system includes 2 hose adapters for common sizes.
- Connect the outlet side of the accumulator tank to your RV or boat's plumbing system (e.g., faucets, shower).
- Ensure all connections are tight and leak-free. Use thread sealant tape on threaded connections if necessary.
4.4 Electrical Connections
- Connect the pump's positive (+) wire to a fused 12V DC power source. It is recommended to use a 15A fuse.
- Connect the pump's negative (-) wire to a suitable ground point.
- Ensure all electrical connections are secure and insulated to prevent short circuits.

5. Operation
5.1 Initial Start-Up
- Ensure the freshwater tank is filled.
- Open all faucets (hot and cold) in your system to allow air to escape.
- Turn on the 12V DC power supply to the pump.
- The pump will begin to run, drawing water and expelling air from the lines.
- Once a steady stream of water flows from all faucets, close them. The pump should then build pressure and shut off automatically.
5.2 Normal Operation
The Kohree water pump system operates automatically. When a faucet is opened, the pressure in the system drops, activating the pump. When the faucet is closed, the pressure builds, and the pump shuts off. The accumulator tank helps maintain consistent pressure and reduces the frequency of pump cycling, leading to smoother water flow and quieter operation.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Regular Checks
- Periodically inspect all plumbing connections for leaks.
- Check electrical connections for corrosion or looseness.
- Ensure the mounting is secure and the anti-vibration feet are intact.
6.2 Inlet Filter Cleaning
The pump is equipped with a washable inlet filter. Regularly inspect and clean this filter to prevent debris from entering the pump, which can reduce performance or cause damage.
- Turn off the power to the pump and relieve system pressure by opening a faucet.
- Unscrew the clear housing of the inlet filter.
- Remove the filter screen and rinse it thoroughly under clean water.
- Reassemble the filter, ensuring the O-ring is properly seated to prevent leaks.
6.3 Winterization
If the system will be exposed to freezing temperatures, it must be properly winterized to prevent damage.
- Drain all water from the freshwater tank and plumbing lines.
- Run the pump briefly to clear any remaining water, ensuring it does not run dry for extended periods.
- Consider using RV-specific antifreeze according to its instructions, ensuring it circulates through the pump and all lines.
7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Kohree water pump system.
7.1 Pump Runs Continuously or Cycles Frequently
- Possible Cause: Air in the system.
Solution: Open all faucets to purge air until a steady stream of water flows, then close them. - Possible Cause: Leak in the plumbing system.
Solution: Inspect all connections, hoses, and fixtures for leaks and repair as necessary. - Possible Cause: Pressure switch deviation (may occur during transportation).
Solution: With water and power on and outlets closed, slightly adjust the pressure switch (located on the pump) about 15° each time until the pump stops vibrating and shuts off. Avoid large adjustments at once.

Figure 7.1: Location and adjustment of the pressure switch.
7.2 No Water Flow or Low Pressure
- Possible Cause: No power to the pump.
Solution: Check fuse, wiring connections, and power switch. - Possible Cause: Empty freshwater tank.
Solution: Refill the tank. - Possible Cause: Clogged inlet filter.
Solution: Clean the inlet filter as described in Section 6.2. - Possible Cause: Kinked or blocked hose.
Solution: Inspect all hoses for obstructions.
7.3 Pump is Noisy
- Possible Cause: Air in the system.
Solution: Purge air by opening faucets. - Possible Cause: Loose mounting.
Solution: Ensure the pump is securely mounted and rubber feet are intact. - Possible Cause: Vibration transmitted through plumbing.
Solution: Ensure hoses are not touching hard surfaces and consider adding flexible connectors.
7.4 Built-in Bypass Check Valve
The pump features a built-in bypass check valve. Do not make random adjustments to this valve, as it could impact the pump's normal function.
