3. Setup
Setting up the ZY-EH1304 encoder involves connecting the necessary cables and configuring the device via its web interface.
3.1. Hardware Connections
- Connect HDMI Sources: Connect your HDMI video sources (e.g., cameras, computers, media players) to the HDMI IN ports (1-4) on the encoder.
- Connect Audio Sources: If using external audio, connect your audio devices to the AUDIO IN ports (1-4).
- Network Connection: Connect an Ethernet cable from the encoder's LAN port to your network router or switch. For initial configuration, a direct connection to a computer may be required.
- Power Connection: Connect the provided 12V/DC power adapter to the encoder and plug it into a power outlet. The device will power on automatically.
3.2. Initial Configuration (Web Interface)
The encoder is configured through a web-based interface. The LCD screen on the device will display its IP address. Use this IP address to access the configuration page from a web browser on a computer connected to the same network.
- Identify IP Address: Check the LCD screen on the encoder for its current IP address.
- Access Web Interface: Open a web browser on your computer and enter the encoder's IP address in the address bar.
- Login: Enter the default username and password (refer to the included quick start guide for default credentials).
- Network Settings: Configure network settings (e.g., static IP, DHCP) as required for your network environment.
- Video and Audio Settings: Adjust resolution, bitrate, encoding profiles (H.265/H.264/MJPEG), and audio settings for each channel.
- Streaming Protocol Configuration: Set up your desired streaming protocols (RTMP, RTSP, etc.) and destination server details for live streaming.

4. Operating Instructions
Once configured, the ZY-EH1304 encoder operates by taking video and audio inputs, encoding them, and streaming them out over the network.
4.1. Monitoring Status
- The integrated LCD screen provides real-time information on the encoder's operational status, including IP address and channel activity.
- The web interface offers a comprehensive dashboard to monitor input status, output streams, and system health.
4.2. Managing Streams
- Each of the 4 input channels can generate up to 4 independent streams, supporting different protocols or destinations simultaneously.
- Use the web interface to start, stop, and modify individual streams.
- Adjust parameters such as resolution, frame rate, and bitrate on the fly to optimize for network conditions or platform requirements.
4.3. Advanced Features
- OSD (On-Screen Display): Customize your video output by adding text, time stamps, or image logos directly onto the video stream via the web interface.
- Mirror/Flip: Apply horizontal or vertical mirroring/flipping to the video output as needed for specific applications.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your ZY-EH1304 encoder, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps.
6.1. No Power
- Check if the power adapter is securely connected to both the device and a working power outlet.
- Verify the power outlet is functional.
6.2. No Video Output/Input Signal
- Ensure HDMI cables are securely connected to both the source and the encoder.
- Verify the video source is active and outputting a signal.
- Check the input resolution settings in the web interface to ensure they match the source.
- Confirm that the correct input channel is selected for streaming.
6.3. Network Connectivity Issues
- Check the Ethernet cable connection to the encoder and your network device (router/switch).
- Verify network settings (IP address, subnet mask, gateway) in the web interface are correct for your network.
- Ensure there are no IP address conflicts on your network.
- Try restarting your network router/switch.
6.4. Streaming Problems
- Verify the streaming protocol settings (RTMP URL, stream key) are correctly configured for your streaming platform.
- Check your internet connection speed and stability. Insufficient bandwidth can cause buffering or disconnections.
- Ensure the streaming platform is online and accepting streams.
For persistent issues, refer to the detailed specifications or contact ORIVISION technical support.
