1. Setup

1.1 Unboxing and Included Components

Carefully unpack your Riflewell GKM-145W gun safe. Ensure all components listed below are present:

• 1 x Rifle Gun Safe
• 2 x Emergency Keys
• 5 x Expansion Screws
• 1 x Type-C Cable
• 3 x Gun Racks (adjustable)
• 1 x Instruction Manual (this document)

1.2 Mounting and Installation

For enhanced security, it is highly recommended to bolt the safe to the floor or a wall. The safe features pre-drilled holes for this purpose.

1. Choose a suitable location for your safe, such as a closet or a secure corner.
2. The safe has 3 pre-drilled holes on the back and 2 on the bottom. Mark the desired drilling points on the floor or wall using the safe as a template.
3. Drill pilot holes at the marked locations.
4. Position the safe and align the holes.
5. Secure the safe using the provided 5 expansion screws. Ensure the safe is firmly attached and stable.

1.3 Initial Access and Battery Installation

Upon first use, or if the batteries are depleted, you can access the safe using the emergency keys or the external Type-C power cable.

• Emergency Key Access: Insert one of the emergency keys into the hidden key lock located below the digital keypad. Turn the key and the rotary knob simultaneously to open the safe door.
• External Power Access: Connect the provided Type-C cable to the external power jack on the keypad and to a power source. This will temporarily power the keypad, allowing you to enter a code or use a fingerprint to open the safe.
• Once the safe is open, install 4 AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment located inside the door. Ensure correct polarity.

2. Operation

2.1 Opening the Safe

The Riflewell GKM-145W safe offers multiple access methods:

• Biometric Fingerprint: Place a registered finger on the fingerprint scanner. The safe will unlock in approximately 0.1 seconds. Turn the rotary knob to open the door.
• Digital Keypad: Enter your programmed password on the digital keypad, then press the '#' confirming button. Turn the rotary knob to open the door.
• Emergency Key: (As described in Setup) Insert the emergency key and turn it while simultaneously turning the rotary knob.
• External Power + Digital Keypad: If batteries are dead, connect the Type-C cable, then use the digital keypad method.

2.2 Programming Fingerprints and Passwords

Refer to the detailed instructions within the safe's internal manual for specific steps on programming new fingerprints and changing passwords. The safe can store up to 30 fingerprints.

2.3 Mute Function

To activate or deactivate the mute function:

1. Press the '1' button twice.
2. Then press the '#' confirming button.

A prompt sound will confirm the change. When muted, the safe will not make sound during operation, which can be useful in certain situations.

2.4 Interior Features

• Adjustable Gun Racks: The safe includes 2 rifle racks and 1 pistol rack. These can be adjusted to accommodate various gun lengths.
• Removable Shelf: A removable shelf is provided for additional storage flexibility. With the shelf, the maximum gun length is 48.42 inches. Without the shelf, the maximum gun length is 56.59 inches.
• LED Light: An internal LED light illuminates the safe's interior, aiding visibility in low-light conditions.
• Door Storage: Two storage boxes and two pistol bags are integrated into the door for storing pistols, cartridges, and other small items.

3. Maintenance

3.1 Battery Replacement

The safe will provide an 'Under Voltage Warning' when the battery level is low (below 4.8V). This is indicated by a prompt sound. Replace the 4 AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation of the electronic lock system. The fingerprint memory function ensures your code will not be lost during battery replacement.

3.2 Cleaning

Clean the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish. For the interior, a soft brush or vacuum can be used to remove dust and debris.

3.3 Lock Mechanism Care

Periodically check the lock mechanism and bolts for any obstructions. Keep the keypad and fingerprint scanner clean and dry for optimal performance.

4. Troubleshooting

4.1 Dual Alarm System

The safe is equipped with a dual alarm system:

• Incorrect Code/Fingerprint Alarm: If 3 consecutive incorrect codes are entered or 5 consecutive incorrect fingerprints are scanned, the alarm system will activate for 30 seconds.
• Vibration Alarm: If the gun cabinet is moved violently or shaken, the vibration alarm will be triggered immediately. To activate the vibration alarm mode, press the '*' button.

The alarm sound can reach up to 70 decibels.

4.2 Door Not Locking Properly

If the door does not lock when turning the knob, ensure the door is perfectly aligned with the safe frame. Misalignment can prevent the security bolts from engaging correctly.

4.3 Keypad Unresponsive

If the keypad is unresponsive, check the battery level. If the batteries are low or dead, use the external Type-C power cable to temporarily power the unit or replace the batteries.
