1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the operation and maintenance of your Mersoco BR602S Cassette Player and MP3 Converter. 4. Setup

4.1 Powering the Device

The Mersoco BR602S can be powered by two methods:

  1. AA Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the device and insert two (2) AA 1.5V batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  2. USB Power: Connect the provided USB cable to the device's USB port and to a DC 5V adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.

4.2 Inserting a Cassette Tape

  1. Press the 'OPEN' button on the side of the player to open the cassette compartment.
  2. Insert your audio cassette with the desired side facing up.
  3. Close the cassette compartment firmly until it clicks into place.

4.3 Connecting Earphones/Headphones

Plug the included 3.5mm earphones or your preferred headphones into the 'HEADPHONE' jack on the side of the device.

5. Operating the Cassette Player

5.1 Basic Playback

  1. Press the PLAY button to start playback.
  2. Adjust the volume using the VOLUME dial.
  3. To fast forward, press the F.F button. Release to resume playback.
  4. To rewind, press the REW button. Release to resume playback.
  5. To stop playback, press the STOP button.

5.2 Auto-Reverse Function

The device features an auto-reverse function. To activate:

  • During playback, press the DIR button to switch playback direction (Side A to Side B or vice versa).
  • The player will automatically reverse direction when it reaches the end of a tape side if the 'Play Mode' switch is set to the continuous loop icon. If set to the single arrow icon, it will stop after one side.

6. Converting Cassettes to MP3 Digital Format

The Mersoco BR602S allows you to convert your analog cassette tapes into digital MP3 files using a computer.

  1. Install Software: Insert the provided mini software CD into your computer's CD drive and install the audio editing software. Alternatively, download the software from the link provided in the user guide (if applicable).
  2. Connect Device: Insert a cassette tape into the player. Connect the Mersoco BR602S to your computer using the supplied USB cable.
  3. Start Recording: Open the installed software on your computer. Click the 'Record' button within the software interface. Then, press the PLAY button on the cassette player to begin playing the tape. The audio will be recorded by the software.
  4. Stop and Edit: Once the desired audio segment has played, click the 'STOP' recording button in the software. You can then use the software to edit, trim, or save the recorded audio as an MP3 file.

The software is compatible with Windows 2000/XP, Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), Windows 7, Windows 10, and Mac operating systems.

7. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Mersoco BR602S, follow these maintenance guidelines:
