1. Introduction

The AOBEN 8.5 Amp Biscuit Cutter Plate Joiner is designed for creating strong, precise joints in various wood materials. It features an 8.5 Amp motor, a 4-inch tungsten carbide-tipped blade, adjustable angle settings, and an integrated dust collection system. This tool is suitable for joints in solid wood, plywood, chipboard, fiberboard, Plexiglas, and artificial marble, for material thicknesses from 8 mm (5/16 in.) and above.

5. Setup

5.1 Attaching the Dust Bag

The dust bag connects to the joiner with a simple push-on connection. Ensure it is securely attached before operation to collect debris and maintain a clear workspace.

5.2 Blade Installation/Inspection

The 4-inch tungsten carbide-tipped blade is typically pre-installed. Before first use and periodically thereafter, inspect the blade for sharpness and damage. Refer to the maintenance section for blade replacement instructions.

6. Operation

6.1 Adjusting Cutting Depth

The biscuit joiner features pre-set stops for common biscuit sizes: No. 0, No. 10, and No. 20. An additional 'M' (Manual) setting allows for custom depth adjustments.

1. Locate the depth adjustment knob.
2. Rotate the knob to select the desired biscuit size (0, 10, 20) or the 'M' setting for manual depth.
3. For the 'M' setting, further fine-tune the depth using the adjustment screw if available, or by testing on scrap material.

6.2 Adjusting Cutting Angle

The adjustable tilt fence can be locked in position from 0° to 90°.

1. Loosen the angle knob.
2. Tilt the fence to the desired angle, aligning with the angle scale.
3. Tighten the angle knob to secure the fence in place.
4. For precise miter cuts, it is recommended to verify the angle with a separate protractor.

6.3 Types of Joints

This biscuit joiner is suitable for various joint types:

• Corner Joint: Joining two pieces at a 90-degree angle.
• Miter Joint: Joining two pieces at an angle, typically 45 degrees, to form a corner.
• Frame Joint: Used for constructing frames.
• Center Wall Joint: For joining panels in the middle.
• Butt Joint: Simple edge-to-edge joining, with biscuits providing alignment and strength.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Dust Bag Emptying

The dust collection bag fills quickly. Regularly empty the bag to maintain effective dust collection and prevent clogging. A full bag can reduce visibility and create a mess.

7.2 Blade Care

Keep the blade clean and sharp. A dull blade can cause splintering and strain the motor. Replace worn or damaged blades promptly.

7.3 General Cleaning

After each use, clean the tool with a dry cloth. Remove any sawdust or debris from the fence, plate, and adjustment mechanisms to ensure smooth operation. Do not use solvents or harsh chemicals.

7.4 Motor Brush Inspection

This tool includes spare motor brushes. Periodically inspect the motor brushes for wear. Refer to the tool's internal diagrams (if available) for brush access and replacement.

• Tool does not start:
