1. Battery Installation

Your Hauz Elink URC-383 remote requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included).

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
  2. Press down on the tab and slide the cover off.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align with the markings inside the compartment.
  4. Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

Note: Always replace both batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

2. Programming Your Remote

The Hauz Elink URC-383 can be programmed using either Direct Code Entry or Auto Code Search methods.

Method A: Direct Code Entry (Recommended if you know your device code)

Refer to the included code list (if applicable) for your device's brand. If no code list is provided, please use the Auto Code Search method.

  1. Turn on the device you wish to program (e.g., TV, DVD player).
  2. Press and hold the CODE button on the remote until the indicator light illuminates.
  3. While holding CODE, press the device button you want to program (e.g., TV, DVD.AUX, VCR, SAT.DTC/CABLE). The indicator light will blink once and then remain lit.
  4. Enter the 3-digit code for your device brand using the number buttons. After entering the last digit, the indicator light should turn off.
  5. Test the remote by pressing the POWER button. If the device turns off, try other functions like VOL+ or CHAN+. If the device responds correctly, programming is complete.
  6. If the device does not respond, repeat the process with the next code listed for your brand, or try the Auto Code Search method.

Method B: Auto Code Search (If you don't know your device code)

  1. Turn on the device you wish to program.
  2. Press and hold the CODE button until the indicator light illuminates.
  3. While holding CODE, press the device button you want to program (e.g., TV). The indicator light will blink once and then remain lit.
  4. Point the remote at the device and repeatedly press the POWER button (or CHAN+ for TV/VCR) slowly, allowing time for the device to respond. Each press sends a different code.
  5. Stop pressing the button immediately when your device turns off (or changes channel).
  6. Press the ENTER button to save the code. The indicator light will turn off.
  7. Test the remote by trying other functions. If the device responds correctly, programming is complete. If not, repeat the Auto Code Search process.
