4. Setup
Before first use, ensure all packaging materials are removed. Wash all removable parts (dust cover, reamer, strainer, juice collector) in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely. Wipe the motor base with a soft, damp cloth.
To assemble:
- Place the juice collector onto the motor base.
- Insert the stainless steel strainer into the juice collector.
- Place the stainless steel reamer onto the central shaft of the motor base, ensuring it is securely seated.
- The dust cover can be placed on top when the juicer is not in use.
5. Operating Instructions
The Smeg CJF11 Citrus Juicer features an automatic start/stop system and an anti-drip spout for convenient juicing.
- Ensure the juicer is properly assembled and plugged into a 120V power outlet.
- Cut your citrus fruit (lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruits) in half.
- Place a glass or container under the anti-drip spout. Ensure the spout is in the downward position to allow juice to flow.
- Place a fruit half onto the reamer and apply gentle downward pressure. The reamer will automatically begin to rotate, extracting juice.
- Continue rotating the fruit on the reamer until all juice is extracted.
- To stop the juice flow, simply lift the fruit from the reamer. The motor will stop automatically. To temporarily stop juice flow from the spout, push the spout upwards. Push it down again to resume flow.
- Repeat the process for additional fruit halves.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance
Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your juicer.
- Motor Base: Wipe the motor base clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the motor base in water.
- Removable Parts: The reamer, dust cover, strainer, and juice collector are dishwasher safe. For manual cleaning, wash in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely.
- Storage: Thoroughly dry all components before storing. Use the dust cover to keep the juicer clean when not in use. The power cord can be coiled and stored neatly underneath the motor base.

7. Troubleshooting
If your juicer is not operating as expected, consider the following:
- Juicer not turning on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check that the reamer and strainer are correctly seated on the motor base. The juicer activates upon downward pressure on the reamer.
- Juice not flowing: Verify that the anti-drip spout is in the downward position. Ensure there is no pulp blockage in the strainer or spout.
- Excessive pulp: The strainer is designed to separate pulp. If you prefer less pulp, you may need to clean the strainer more frequently during extended juicing sessions.
