4. Setup

Before first use, ensure the generator is on a level surface and follow these steps:

  1. Unpacking and Inspection: Carefully remove the generator from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
  2. Wheel and Handle Assembly: Attach the wheels and handles as per the assembly instructions provided in the separate quick start guide (if applicable).
  3. Add Engine Oil: Remove the oil fill cap/dipstick. Slowly add the recommended engine oil (e.g., 10W-30) up to the full mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill. The oil capacity is approximately 600 mL.
  4. Connect Battery: If equipped with electric start, connect the 12V battery terminals, ensuring correct polarity (red to positive, black to negative).
  5. Add Fuel: Fill the fuel tank with fresh, unleaded gasoline (Petrol) with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not overfill. Leave space for fuel expansion.
  6. Grounding: Connect a grounding wire from the generator's grounding terminal to an appropriate ground source to prevent electrical shock.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to start and operate your GENERGY generator:

  1. Placement: Ensure the generator is on a level, stable surface outdoors, away from combustible materials and at least 15 feet from any building openings.
  2. Fuel Valve: Open the fuel valve (if present).
  3. Choke: Move the choke lever to the "CHOKE" position (for cold starts).
  4. Engine Switch: Turn the engine switch to the "ON" position.
  5. Starting:
    • Electric Start: Press and hold the electric start button until the engine starts. Release the button immediately once started.
    • Recoil Start: Pull the recoil starter handle slowly until resistance is felt, then pull quickly and firmly. Repeat if necessary.
  6. Choke Adjustment: Once the engine starts and runs smoothly, gradually move the choke lever to the "RUN" position.
  7. Connecting Loads: Allow the generator to warm up for a few minutes. Then, connect your electrical devices to the output receptacles. Do not overload the generator.
  8. Shutting Down:
    • Disconnect all electrical loads.
    • Turn the engine switch to the "OFF" position.
    • Close the fuel valve (if present).

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and performance of your generator. Always perform maintenance with the engine off and cool.
