4.4 Install the Spark Ignition Kit
- Mount the igniter panel in a suitable location on your fire pit enclosure.
- Connect the igniter electrode wires to the spark ignition module.
- Ensure the igniter electrode is positioned correctly near one of the burner holes to facilitate ignition.
4.5 Leak Test
- After all connections are made, open the propane tank valve slowly.
- Apply a soapy water solution to all gas connections. If bubbles appear, there is a leak. Tighten connections and re-test.
- Do not operate the fire pit if a gas leak is detected.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Before Lighting
- Ensure the fire pit area is clear of debris and flammable materials.
- Confirm the propane tank valve is open.
- Verify the gas key valve on the igniter panel is in the OFF position.
5.2 Lighting the Burner
- Slowly turn the gas key valve to the ON position to allow propane to flow to the burner.
- Immediately press and hold the igniter button to create a spark.
- Continue holding the igniter button until the burner ignites.
- Once ignited, release the igniter button.
- Adjust the flame height using the gas key valve.
NOTE: If the burner does not ignite within 5 seconds, turn the gas key valve to the OFF position, wait 5 minutes for gas to dissipate, and then repeat the lighting procedure.
5.3 Turning Off the Burner
- Turn the gas key valve to the OFF position.
- Close the valve on the propane tank.
- Allow the burner and fire pit media to cool completely before covering or storing.
