Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the performance and longevity of your battery. Follow these steps carefully.
1. Unpacking and Inspection:
- Carefully remove the battery from its packaging.
- Inspect the battery for any visible damage. If damage is found, contact customer support immediately.
- Verify all components are present: battery unit, protective caps, and M8 terminal bolts.

2. Mounting Location:
- Choose a dry, cool, and well-ventilated location.
- Ensure the mounting surface is strong enough to support the battery's weight (approximately 83.6 pounds / 38 kg).
- Avoid locations exposed to direct sunlight, heat sources, or moisture.
3. Electrical Connections:
- Before making any connections, ensure all power sources are disconnected.
- Connect the positive (+) terminal of the battery to the positive (+) terminal of your system.
- Connect the negative (-) terminal of the battery to the negative (-) terminal of your system.
- Use appropriate gauge cables and ensure all connections are tight and secure.

Operating Instructions
Charging the Battery:
- Use a LiFePO4 compatible charger with the correct voltage and current settings (48V system).
- Connect the charger to the battery terminals, ensuring correct polarity.
- Monitor the charging process, especially during the first few cycles.
- The built-in BMS will protect the battery from overcharging.
Discharging the Battery:
- Ensure the load connected to the battery does not exceed the maximum continuous discharge current (200A, as per BMS specification).
- The BMS will automatically disconnect the battery if the voltage drops below a safe level to prevent over-discharge.
Parallel Connection:
Multiple CHINS 48V 100AH batteries can be connected in parallel to increase total capacity. This allows for longer run times or higher power output for demanding applications.
- Only connect identical CHINS 48V 100AH LiFePO4 batteries in parallel.
- Ensure all batteries are at a similar state of charge (voltage difference less than 0.2V) before connecting them in parallel.
- Use appropriate bus bars or cables to connect all positive terminals together and all negative terminals together.
- The BMS in each battery will balance the cells, but initial voltage matching is important for optimal performance.
Bluetooth Monitoring:
If your battery model includes Bluetooth functionality, download the CHINS battery monitoring application from your device's app store. This app allows you to monitor real-time battery status, including voltage, current, temperature, and state of charge.
Maintenance
LiFePO4 batteries are generally maintenance-free compared to lead-acid batteries. However, following these guidelines will ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check the battery terminals for corrosion or loose connections. Clean terminals if necessary.
- Storage: If storing the battery for an extended period, ensure it is charged to approximately 50-70% State of Charge (SOC) and stored in a cool, dry place. Avoid storing a fully discharged battery.
- Cleaning: Keep the battery casing clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
- Temperature: Operate and store the battery within the recommended temperature ranges specified in the "Specifications" section. Extreme temperatures can affect performance and lifespan.
