4. Assembly Instructions
Assembly of the COMHOMA Recliner Chair (3-seater sofa) is required. While one person can assemble it, the boxes are heavy, and assistance is recommended for handling. Follow these general steps:
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Ensure all components listed in the packing list are present.
- Assemble Arms: This is often the most challenging part. Extend the arm brackets and align them with the corresponding points on the main frame. Secure them with the provided screws. It may require holding the brackets in an extended position while fastening.
- Attach Backrests: Slide the backrests into place on the main frame until they securely lock.
- Connect Sections: If assembling a multi-piece sofa, connect the individual sections at the base using the designated connectors.
- Final Checks: Ensure all connections are secure and the sofa is stable before use.
Note on Folds: It is normal for minor folds to appear on the PU leather surface due to vacuum-packing during shipping. These folds will gradually reduce and flatten after 3-10 uses, or can be gently encouraged to flatten by light tapping or using a hairdryer on a low, appropriate heat setting.
5. Operating Instructions
Operating your COMHOMA Recliner Chair is straightforward:
5.1 Reclining the Chair
- Activate Recline: Locate the lever on the side of the armrest (typically on the outer side). Pull this lever to release the footrest and initiate the recline mechanism.
- Recline Backwards: Place your hands on the armrests and gently push your body weight backward. The backrest will recline smoothly to your desired angle (between approximately 90° and 160°).
- Return to Upright: To return to the upright position, lean forward and use your body weight to push the backrest forward. Use your heel to push the footrest down until it locks into place.
Important: The 3-seater sofa's reclining mechanism is designed to return to the upright position when you leave the chair. It will not stay in a reclined position without body weight.
5.2 Using the Footrest
The footrest extends automatically when you pull the recline lever. To retract it, apply gentle pressure with your heels until it clicks back into its locked, stored position.

6. Care and Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your COMHOMA Recliner Chair:
- Regular Cleaning: Dust the surface regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For spills, wipe immediately with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Addressing Folds: As mentioned in assembly, minor folds from packaging are normal. Gentle tapping or the application of warm air (e.g., from a hairdryer on low setting, held at a safe distance) can help accelerate the flattening process.
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the PU leather to fade or crack. Position your sofa away from direct sunlight.
- Keep Away from Heat Sources: Do not place the sofa too close to radiators, fireplaces, or other heat sources, as this can damage the material.
- Protect from Sharp Objects: Avoid placing sharp objects on the sofa that could puncture or scratch the upholstery.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your recliner chair, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Chair Does Not Recline Smoothly:
- Check for any obstructions around or under the mechanism.
- Ensure all assembly screws are tightened correctly.
- Footrest Does Not Extend/Retract:
- Verify that the pull lever is fully engaged or disengaged.
- Ensure no objects are blocking the footrest's path.
- Folds on Upholstery Persist:
- Allow more time for natural flattening with regular use.
- Gently tap the affected areas or apply low, warm air from a hairdryer.
- Squeaking Noises:
- Inspect the metal frame and mechanism for loose bolts or connections. Tighten if necessary.
- Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to moving parts if the noise persists (consult manufacturer for recommended lubricant).
If problems persist after attempting these solutions, please contact COMHOMA customer support.
