2. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your ARES WING Dual Monitor Arm. Ensure all parts are present before beginning.

2.1 Check Monitor Compatibility

The monitor arm is compatible with VESA patterns of 75x75mm and 100x100mm. It supports monitors between 17 and 49 inches, with a weight capacity of 4.4 lbs to 44 lbs per arm. For ultrawide monitors like the Samsung Odyssey G9, an additional VESA adapter may be required if not included with your monitor.

2.2 Choose Mounting Method

The monitor arm offers two mounting options: C-clamp and Grommet mount.

  • C-Clamp: Suitable for desk thicknesses between 0.5 and 1.8 inches.
  • Grommet Mount: Suitable for desk thicknesses between 0.5 and 2.0 inches. Requires an existing through-hole (0.4-2.4 inches diameter) or drilling a new 3/8 inch (10mm) hole.

2.3 Assembly Steps

  1. Mount the Base to Desk: Secure the chosen mounting base (C-clamp or grommet) to your desk. Ensure it is tightened firmly to prevent wobbling.
  2. Assemble the Arms: Attach the monitor arms to the central pole. Ensure the gas spring mechanism is correctly aligned.
  3. Attach the Screen to Arm: Use the quick-release VESA plate to attach your monitor. Secure the plate to the back of your monitor using the provided screws (R and S). Then, slide the monitor with the attached plate onto the arm's VESA head.

Caution:

  • Do not release the monitor immediately after hanging. Wait until it is stable in its position.
  • If the arm rises or falls, refer to the adjustment section.

3. Operation and Adjustments

The ARES WING Dual Monitor Arm provides extensive adjustability for optimal viewing comfort and productivity.

3.1 Adjusting Gas Spring Tension

The gas spring tension needs to be adjusted to match the weight of your monitor. This ensures the arm holds the monitor securely in place without drifting up or down.

  • Position and hold the arm horizontally.
  • Use the supplied Allen key to adjust the tension. Turn clockwise (+) if the arm drops, and counter-clockwise (-) if the arm rises.
  • Adjust until the arm stays in position when released.

3.2 Monitor Positioning

Utilize the arm's full motion capabilities to achieve your desired setup:

  • Height Adjustment: Max height of 27.9 inches.
  • Extension: Max extension of 22.4 inches.
  • Tilt: -50° to +20° for optimal viewing angles.
  • Swivel: ±90° for easy screen sharing or reorientation.
  • Rotation: 360° to switch between landscape and portrait modes.

Caution:

  • Do not rotate the monitor past the rear edge of the desk to avoid an unstable situation that may cause tipping.

3.3 Using USB Ports

The smart base features integrated USB-A (5V/2A) and USB-C (5V/2A) ports for convenient charging of your devices such as phones, tablets, and headphones. These ports also support data transmission.

3.4 Cable Management

To maintain a clean and organized workspace, route your cables through the integrated cable covers on the arms. Push the cover upward first, then pull it off to avoid damage. Once cables are routed, snap the covers back into place.

5. Troubleshooting
