2.2 Mounting the Riflescope

To ensure stable and accurate performance, proper mounting is crucial. Use the provided mounting rings for 21mm Picatinny or Weaver rails.

  1. Attach the mounting rings securely to your firearm's Picatinny or Weaver rail. Ensure they are spaced appropriately for optimal balance and eye relief.
  2. Place the riflescope into the lower halves of the mounting rings.
  3. Attach the upper halves of the rings and tighten the screws evenly. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the scope tube. Refer to your mounting ring manufacturer's torque specifications if available.
  4. Adjust the riflescope's position forward or backward to achieve the optimal eye relief (approximately 95mm for this model) while maintaining a clear, full field of view.
  5. Ensure the reticle is level with the firearm. Use a reticle leveling tool if available.
  6. Once eye relief and reticle level are set, fully tighten all mounting screws according to manufacturer specifications.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Magnification Adjustment

The SCOL-TE52 offers a variable magnification range from 6x to 48x. Rotate the magnification ring, located near the eyepiece, to adjust the desired level of magnification.

3.2 Diopter Adjustment

The diopter adjustment ring, located on the eyepiece, allows you to fine-tune the reticle's focus to your individual eyesight. Rotate this ring until the reticle appears sharp and clear without straining your eye. The diopter compensation range is +2 to -3 dpr.

3.3 Reticle Illumination

The riflescope features a 2nd focal plane (SFP) reticle with 11 levels of red illumination. The illumination control is typically integrated into the parallax adjustment knob or a separate turret. Rotate the illumination dial to turn the reticle on/off and adjust its brightness to suit ambient light conditions.

3.4 Windage and Elevation Adjustment

The riflescope is equipped with precision adjustment turrets for windage (horizontal) and elevation (vertical) corrections. Each click provides 1/8 MOA adjustment. The maximum adjustment range is 48 MOA for both windage and elevation.

  • Elevation Turret (Top): Used for vertical adjustments. Features a Zero Stop mechanism to easily return to your zero setting.
  • Windage Turret (Right): Used for horizontal adjustments. Features a Turret Lock to prevent accidental changes.

To make adjustments, lift or unlock the turret (depending on the mechanism), rotate it in the desired direction, and then push down or lock it back into place. Always refer to the markings on the turrets for direction (UP/DOWN, L/R).

3.5 Parallax Adjustment

The parallax adjustment knob is typically located on the left side of the riflescope. Rotate this knob to eliminate parallax error, which occurs when the target and reticle appear to shift relative to each other with slight head movements. Adjust the parallax until the target and reticle are in the same focal plane, appearing sharp and stationary when you move your head slightly.

4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Vector Optics riflescope.

  • Cleaning Lenses: Use the provided cleaning cloth or a high-quality lens cleaning kit. Gently wipe the lens surfaces to remove dust and smudges. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Cleaning Body: Wipe the riflescope body with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and debris.
  • Storage: Store the riflescope in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the protective lens caps when not in use.
  • Avoid Disassembly: Do not attempt to disassemble the riflescope. This will void the warranty and may cause irreparable damage.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your riflescope, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Unclear Image/Reticle:
    • Adjust the diopter setting on the eyepiece.
    • Adjust the parallax setting for the specific target distance.
    • Ensure lenses are clean and free of smudges.
  • Reticle Illumination Not Working:
    • Check if the illumination is turned on and set to a visible brightness level.
    • Verify the battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
  • Inconsistent Point of Impact:
    • Ensure the riflescope is securely mounted and all screws are tightened to specification.
    • Check for any loose components on the firearm or scope.
    • Confirm proper zeroing procedure was followed.

If problems persist, please contact Vector Optics customer support for assistance.
