The ILM RANGEPRO is a high-performance motorcycle Bluetooth headset and communication system designed for clear and stable communication during rides. This manual provides detailed instructions for installation, operation, and maintenance of your RANGEPRO headset.

Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install the RANGEPRO headset on your helmet:

  1. Choose Mounting Location: Select a flat surface on the side of your helmet for the main unit. Ensure it does not obstruct your vision or helmet functionality.
  2. Attach Mounting Base:
    • Adhesive Mount: Clean the helmet surface thoroughly. Peel the backing from the adhesive base and firmly press it onto the chosen location. Hold for 30 seconds. Allow 24 hours for the adhesive to fully cure before use.
    • Clip Mount: Slide the clip mount between the helmet shell and the inner padding. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  3. Install Main Unit: Slide the RANGEPRO headset onto the installed mounting base until it clicks into place.
  4. Speaker Installation:
    • Attach the speaker Velcro pads inside the helmet, aligning them with your ears.
    • Press the speakers onto the Velcro pads. Ensure they are positioned comfortably and do not cause pressure points.
  5. Microphone Installation:
    • For full-face helmets, use the soft microphone and position it near your mouth, inside the chin bar.
    • For open-face or modular helmets, use the straight microphone and attach it to the inside of the helmet, ensuring it is close to your mouth.
    • Secure the microphone cable neatly within the helmet padding.
  6. Connect Cables: Plug the speaker and microphone cables into the corresponding ports on the main RANGEPRO unit.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds until the indicator light turns on.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds until the indicator light turns off.

Bluetooth Pairing

To pair your RANGEPRO headset with a mobile device:

  1. Ensure the headset is off.
  2. Press and hold the Power button for approximately 5-7 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue alternately, indicating pairing mode.
  3. On your mobile device, enable Bluetooth and search for "RANGEPRO".
  4. Select "RANGEPRO" from the list of available devices to connect. A voice prompt will confirm successful pairing.

Intercom Communication

The RANGEPRO features DLDR technology for stable long-distance intercom communication with three modes:

  • Public Model: Allows an unlimited number of connections within the 2100m (6890ft) range. Ideal for large groups.
  • Private Model: Limited to 2 users for direct, private communication.
  • Multi-riders Model: Supports team communication for up to 6 users.

Music Playback and Calls

Once paired with your phone, you can control music and calls directly from the headset:

  • Play/Pause: Short press the Multi-function button.
  • Next Song: Long press the Forward button for 2 seconds.
  • Previous Song: Long press the Backward button for 2 seconds.
  • Answer Call: Short press the Multi-function button.
  • End Call: Short press the Multi-function button during a call.
  • Reject Call: Long press the Multi-function button for 2 seconds.
  • Volume Adjustment: Use the Volume Up/Down buttons.
