6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your ANRAN Security Camera System, regular maintenance is recommended:
- Clean Lenses: Periodically wipe camera lenses with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or water spots that may obscure the view. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Check Cables: Inspect all network and power cables for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. Secure any loose cables to prevent accidental disconnections.
- Firmware Updates: Regularly check for and install firmware updates for your NVR and cameras. Updates often include performance improvements, new features, and security enhancements. Refer to the ANRAN app or website for update instructions.
- Hard Drive Health: While the included HDD is enterprise-grade, it's good practice to periodically check its health status through the NVR's system settings. Ensure there is sufficient storage space for continuous recording.
- Environmental Check: Ensure cameras are not obstructed by growing foliage or new structures. Clear any spiderwebs or insect nests that may interfere with motion detection or night vision.
7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your ANRAN Security Camera System.
7.1 No Video Display
- Check Power: Ensure the NVR is powered on and its power adapter is securely connected.
- Check HDMI/VGA: Verify that the HDMI or VGA cable connecting the NVR to your monitor/TV is securely plugged in at both ends. Try a different cable or port if available.
- Camera Connection: For individual cameras not displaying, check the Ethernet cable connection between the camera and the NVR's PoE port. Ensure the cable is not damaged.
- NVR Status: Check the indicator lights on the NVR. Refer to the NVR's specific manual for light status meanings.
7.2 Network Connection Issues
- Router Connection: Ensure the NVR's network cable is securely connected to your router and the router is functioning correctly.
- IP Address: Verify the NVR has obtained a valid IP address from your router. This can usually be checked in the NVR's network settings.
- Firewall/Antivirus: Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software on your network or computer to see if it's blocking the connection.
- Restart Devices: Restart your router, NVR, and then your cameras in that order.
7.3 False Alarms / Motion Detection Issues
- Sensitivity Adjustment: Adjust the motion detection sensitivity settings in the NVR or app. Lowering sensitivity can reduce false alarms from minor movements.
- Detection Zones: Refine your detection zones to exclude areas with frequent irrelevant motion (e.g., busy roads, swaying trees).
- AI Detection: Ensure Person/Vehicle Detection is enabled if you only want alerts for these specific objects.
- Obstructions: Clear any physical obstructions (spiderwebs, branches) from the camera's view.
7.4 Two-Way Audio Not Working
- Volume Levels: Check the volume settings on your NVR, monitor, and the ANRAN app.
- Microphone/Speaker Access: Ensure the ANRAN app has microphone access permissions on your smartphone.
- Network Stability: A stable network connection is crucial for clear two-way audio. Check your internet speed.
