1. Introduction

Welcome to the user manual for your DUSKTEC RGBWW Smart LED Recessed Spotlights. This product offers advanced lighting solutions with customizable colors, adjustable brightness, and smart control features. Designed for easy installation and seamless integration with smart home systems like Alexa, these spotlights provide versatile illumination for various indoor environments, including bathrooms due to their IP44 rating. Please read this manual carefully to ensure proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your new lighting system.

2. Safety Information

Always follow basic safety precautions when installing and operating electrical products to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury.

• Ensure the power supply is disconnected before installation or maintenance.
• Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician if you are unsure.
• Do not use with external dimmer switches; dimming is controlled via the app or Alexa.
• The product is rated IP44, suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, and covered outdoor areas, protecting against splashes.
• Do not disassemble or modify the product.

5. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your DUSKTEC Smart LED Recessed Spotlights:

5.1 Physical Installation

• Prepare the Ceiling: Ensure the power supply to the installation area is turned off at the main circuit breaker. Mark the desired location for each spotlight. The recommended hole size for installation is Ø68mm-85mm. The required recess depth is 34mm.
• Wiring: The spotlights operate on AC200-240V and do not require a separate transformer. Connect the spotlight's wires directly to your AC 220V power supply. The cable length is approximately 150mm.
• Insert the Spotlight: Gently push the spotlight into the prepared hole. The spring clips will secure it in place.

5.2 Initial Power On

Once installed, restore power to the circuit. The spotlights should turn on. They are now ready for smart home integration.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Connecting to Alexa and BRmesh App

Your DUSKTEC spotlights can be controlled via the BRmesh app or directly through Alexa. No additional hub or gateway is required.

• For BRmesh App:
  1. Download the "BRmesh" app from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to add your lights. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
  3. The BRmesh app offers advanced features like fine-tuning color temperature and various scene modes not available directly through Alexa.
• For Direct Alexa Pairing:
  1. Ensure your Alexa device (e.g., Echo) is set up and connected to your Wi-Fi network.
  2. Power on the DUSKTEC spotlight.
  3. Say, "Alexa, find devices." Alexa will scan for new smart lights and automatically link them. This process usually takes a few minutes.
  4. Alternatively, you can activate Alexa pairing from within the BRmesh app for each light.
  5. Note: Uninstalling the BRmesh app after adding the spotlights to Alexa will not affect their use with Alexa.

6.2 Color and Brightness Adjustment

The DUSKTEC spotlights offer extensive control over light color and intensity:

• RGBWW: Enjoy 16 million colors, including RGB (Red, Green, Blue) and dedicated white channels (Warm White, Neutral White, Cold White).
• Adjustable White Light: Seamlessly transition between 2700K (warm white) and 6000K (cool white) to suit your mood or activity.
• Dimmable: Adjust brightness from 1% to 100% using the BRmesh app or Alexa voice commands. These lights are not compatible with traditional external dimmer switches.

6.3 Scheduling and Group Control

Automate your lighting and manage multiple lights efficiently:

• Timers and Schedules: Set your spotlights to turn on or off automatically at specific times using the BRmesh app.
• Dynamic Scenes: Choose from 22 pre-defined dynamic scene modes or create your own custom scenes (DIY) to instantly change the ambiance.
• Memory Function: The lights will remember your last chosen setting when powered off and on again.
• Group Control: Group multiple spotlights together in the BRmesh app or Alexa to control them simultaneously with a single command.

6.4 Music Synchronization

Enhance your entertainment experience with music-synced lighting:

• The light colors can automatically change and pulsate with the rhythm of your music when enabled through the BRmesh app.

7. Maintenance

The DUSKTEC Smart LED Recessed Spotlights are designed for long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance.

• Cleaning: To clean the surface of the spotlights, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• No User-Serviceable Parts: There are no user-serviceable parts inside the spotlights. Do not attempt to open or repair the unit yourself. This will void the warranty.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your DUSKTEC spotlights, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• Light does not turn on:
  • Check if the power supply is connected and the circuit breaker is on.
  • Ensure the wiring is correct and secure.
• Cannot connect to Alexa or BRmesh App:
  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and Alexa device.
  • Try power cycling the spotlight (turn off for at least 5 seconds, then turn on).
  • Ensure your Alexa device is within range and connected to the internet.
  • If using Alexa, try saying "Alexa, find devices" again.
  • For multiple lights, some users find it easier to set up each light individually in the BRmesh app first, then activate Alexa pairing for each.
• Light is not dimming or changing color correctly:
  • Ensure you are using the BRmesh app or Alexa for control, not an external dimmer switch. This product is not compatible with external dimmers.
  • Check the app settings to ensure the correct color or brightness level is selected.
• Lights occasionally get stuck or unresponsive with Alexa:
  • This can sometimes happen with smart devices. Try power cycling the specific light that is unresponsive.
  • Ensure your Alexa device's software is up to date.
  • If the issue persists, try re-pairing the light with Alexa.

DUSKTEC provides a 2-year warranty for this product from the date of purchase. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and material faults under normal use.
