4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
Main Display Unit: Insert 3 x AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment on the back of the unit. Ensure correct polarity. For continuous operation and backlight, connect the power adapter.
Outdoor Multi-Sensor: The outdoor sensor is primarily powered by its solar panel. It also requires 2 x AA batteries (not included) for backup power during periods of low light or night. Install these batteries into the compartment on the underside of the sensor, ensuring correct polarity.

4.2 Outdoor Sensor Mounting
Choose a location for the outdoor sensor that is open and free from obstructions to ensure accurate readings for wind, rain, and temperature. The sensor has a communication range of up to 100 meters (330 feet) from the main unit.
Mounting options include:
- Pole Mount: Use the included clamp to attach the sensor to a pole.
- Surface Mount: Secure the sensor to a flat surface using screws.
Ensure the sensor is level using the integrated bubble level and oriented correctly (wind vane pointing North) for accurate wind direction readings.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
Regularly clean both the main display unit and the outdoor sensor to ensure optimal performance. Use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surfaces or sensors.
- Outdoor Sensor: Periodically check the rain funnel for debris (leaves, dirt) and clear any blockages. Ensure the wind cups and wind vane spin freely.
6.2 Battery Replacement
Replace batteries in both units when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Use high-quality alkaline batteries for best performance and longevity.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No outdoor data displayed | Out of range, low batteries, interference | Move units closer, replace batteries, reduce interference sources (e.g., large metal objects, other electronics). |
| Inaccurate temperature/humidity | Sensor exposed to direct sunlight/heat source, blocked ventilation | Relocate outdoor sensor to a shaded, well-ventilated area. Ensure radiation shield is clean. |
| Incorrect wind direction/speed | Obstructions, sensor not level, wind vane stuck | Ensure sensor is mounted in an open area, level the sensor, check for debris or obstructions on wind cups/vane. |
| Rainfall not registering | Rain funnel blocked, sensor not level | Clear any debris from the rain funnel. Ensure the sensor is level. |
| DCF time not synchronizing | Weak signal, interference, unit location | Place the main unit near a window, away from electronic devices that may cause interference. Allow up to 24 hours for initial synchronization. |
