- USB Power: Connect a USB cable (5V 300mA) to the USB port. This is also used for software editing and data transfer.
Audio Connections
Connect your instrument and amplifier using standard 1/4-inch instrument cables.
- Connect your instrument (e.g., guitar) to the "IN" jack.
- Connect the "OUT" jack to your amplifier or audio interface.

Operating Modes
The M-VAVE Looper Pedal offers four distinct operating modes, accessible via the central controls and footswitches.

Figure 3: Visual representation of the four modes: Tuner, Drum Machine, Looper, and Drum Machine and Looper Mixed Mode.
1. Tuner Mode
To activate the tuner, hold the central button (labeled "Click for ready record / Hold for TUNER") until the display changes to show tuning information. The display will guide you to tune your instrument accurately.
2. Drum Machine Mode
In this mode, the pedal functions as a standalone drum machine. Use the "DRUM" footswitch to start/stop drum patterns. The digital display shows the current drum pattern number (d01-d30). Use the left and right arrow buttons next to the display to navigate through the 30 preset drum patterns. The "DRUM VOL" knob controls the drum pattern volume.
3. Loop Mode
This mode focuses solely on looping your instrument. Use the "LOOPER" footswitch to record, play, or overdub loops. The "LOOPER VOL" knob controls the loop volume. The four loop indicators (1, 2, 3, 4) show the active loop storage location.
4. Drum Machine and Loop Mixed Mode
This mode allows simultaneous use of both the drum machine and looper. The "LOOPER VOL" and "DRUM VOL" knobs provide independent volume control for each function, allowing for balanced mixing. The "LOOPER" and "DRUM" footswitches control their respective functions independently.
Recording and Looping
The pedal offers intuitive controls for recording and managing your loops:
- Start Recording: Click the "LOOPER" footswitch once to begin recording.
- Play/Overdub: Click the "LOOPER" footswitch again to stop recording and start playback. Subsequent clicks will initiate overdubbing.
- Stop Playback: Double-click the "LOOPER" footswitch to stop playback.
- Delete/Undo/Redo: Hold the "LOOPER" footswitch to delete the last recorded layer (undo). Repeat to redo.
- Loop Storage: The pedal has four loop storage locations. Use the dedicated buttons or sequence to switch between them. Each location can store up to 5 minutes of audio, with a total of 11 minutes across all locations.
