The GreenLife 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker is designed for versatile cooking, offering a convenient solution for preparing meals. Its removable interior pot features a healthy ceramic nonstick coating, free from PFAS, PFOA, lead, and cadmium, ensuring a healthier cooking experience. The pot is also stovetop and oven safe, allowing for searing and sautéing before slow cooking. The intuitive control panel provides five cooking functions, including programmable timers and a keep-warm mode, simplifying meal preparation and ensuring food is ready when needed. Both the lid and the inner pot are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.

Safety Information

  • Read all instructions before use.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or heating unit in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as adding cold food to a hot pot.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the removable interior pot and glass lid with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the slow cooker base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water.
  3. Placement: Place the slow cooker base on a stable, heat-resistant, and dry surface, away from edges and heat sources. Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance.
  4. Assembly: Place the clean, dry removable interior pot into the slow cooker base.

Operating Instructions

General Operation

  1. Add ingredients to the removable interior pot.
  2. Place the glass lid securely on the pot.
  3. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet. The digital display will illuminate.
  4. Press the On/Off button to activate the unit.
  5. Use the Mode button to select your desired cooking setting: Low, Medium, or High.
  6. Rotate the central dial to set the cooking time (from 30 minutes to 20 hours).
  7. The slow cooker will begin cooking after the time is set.

Delay Timer Function

  • After setting the cooking time and mode, press the Delay Timer button.
  • Rotate the central dial to set the delay time (up to 10 hours). This is the duration before cooking begins.
  • The display will count down the delay time, after which the slow cooker will automatically start cooking according to your set mode and time.

Keep Warm Function

  • Once the set cooking time is complete, the slow cooker will automatically switch to Keep Warm mode.
  • This function will maintain the food at a serving temperature for up to 4 hours.
  • To manually activate Keep Warm mode, press the Keep Warm button.

Stovetop and Oven Use

The lightweight, removable interior pot is designed for use on stovetops (gas, electric, ceramic) and in ovens up to 350°F (175°C). This allows for searing meats or sautéing vegetables directly in the pot before slow cooking, enhancing flavor and reducing the need for additional cookware.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Interior Pot and Lid: The removable interior pot and glass lid are dishwasher safe. For hand washing, use warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Avoid using harsh scourers or metal utensils that could damage the ceramic nonstick coating.
  • Cleaning the Exterior Base: Wipe the exterior of the slow cooker base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water or any other liquid. Ensure the unit is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning.
  • Storage: Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing. Store the slow cooker in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting

  • Appliance does not turn on:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
    • Check if the On/Off button has been pressed.
    • Verify that the outlet is functional by plugging in another appliance.
  • Food is not cooking properly:
    • Confirm that the correct cooking mode (Low, Medium, High) and time have been selected.
    • Ensure the lid is properly seated on the pot to retain heat.
    • Avoid frequently lifting the lid, as this can extend cooking times.
  • Food sticks to the pot:
    • Although the pot is nonstick, a small amount of cooking oil or spray can be used for certain recipes to prevent sticking.
    • Ensure the pot is clean and free of residue from previous uses.
