2. Important Safety Instructions

6. Setup

6.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tape.
  2. Place the ice maker on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure there is at least 5 inches of clearance around the unit for proper ventilation.
  3. Allow the unit to stand upright for at least 1 hour before plugging it in, especially if it was transported horizontally. This allows the refrigerant to settle.

6.2 Initial Cleaning

Before first use, it is recommended to clean the ice maker:

  1. Remove the ice basket and ice scoop.
  2. Clean the interior with a soft cloth and warm water with a mild detergent.
  3. Rinse thoroughly and drain any remaining water.
  4. Perform a self-cleaning cycle as described in the Maintenance section.

7. Operating Instructions

Your Antarctic Star Nugget Ice Maker features simple one-click operation.

7.1 Making Ice

  1. Ensure the drain plug at the bottom of the unit is securely closed.
  2. Fill the water tank with potable water up to the MAX fill line. Do not overfill.
  3. Plug the ice maker into a grounded electrical outlet.
  4. Press the "ICE/CLEAN" button once to start the ice-making cycle. The indicator light will illuminate.
  5. The ice maker will begin producing nugget ice. The first batch may take slightly longer.
  6. When the ice basket is full, the "Ice Full" indicator light will turn on, and the ice maker will automatically pause. Remove ice to resume production.
  7. When the water level is low, the "Add Water" indicator light will turn on. Add more water to the tank to continue ice production.

7.2 Stopping Ice Production

To stop the ice maker, simply press the "ICE/CLEAN" button again. The indicator light will turn off.

8. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure optimal performance and longevity of your ice maker.

8.1 Self-Cleaning Function

The ice maker features a convenient self-cleaning function:

  1. Ensure the unit is in standby mode (not making ice).
  2. Fill the water tank with clean water.
  3. Press and hold the "ICE/CLEAN" button for 5 seconds. The ring indicator light will flash white.
  4. The cleaning procedure will run for approximately 15 minutes and then automatically exit.
  5. To exit the cleaning procedure early, press the "ICE/CLEAN" button again.

8.2 Manual Cleaning

For thorough cleaning, especially if the unit has not been used for a long time:

  1. Unplug the ice maker from the power outlet.
  2. Drain all water from the unit by opening the drain plug at the bottom.
  3. Clean the interior of the water tank and ice basket with a soft cloth and a solution of warm water and mild detergent or a vinegar solution.
  4. Rinse all internal parts thoroughly with clean water.
  5. Dry all surfaces before reassembling.

8.3 Storage

If the ice maker will not be used for an extended period:

  1. Perform a thorough manual cleaning.
  2. Ensure all internal components are completely dry to prevent mold or mildew growth.
  3. Store the unit in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
