Cleaning Cycle
After your cat uses the litter box, the device will wait for a user-defined delay (configurable in the app) to allow clumps to form. It will then rotate the barrel, sifting clean litter and depositing waste into the integrated waste bin. The waste bin's automatic flip door helps prevent odor leakage.
7. Maintenance
Changing Waste Bags
The waste bin is located inside the barrel. When the app indicates the bin is full, or you observe it needs changing:
- Ensure the unit is in standby mode or powered off.
- Access the waste bin compartment (refer to the quick start guide for specific access instructions).
- Remove the full waste bag and dispose of it responsibly.
- Insert a new waste bag, ensuring it is properly seated and secured.
- Close the waste bin compartment securely.

- Remove Litter: If performing a deep clean, empty all remaining litter from the barrel.
- Disassemble Components:
- Remove the pedal located at the entrance.
- Open the buckle at the back of the barrel.
- Carefully lift and remove the entire barrel compartment from the base unit.
- The filter mesh and bottom tray (TPE) are also designed to be detachable without the need for tools.
- Washable Parts: The barrel, filter mesh, and bottom tray can be washed with water and a mild detergent. Two drainage holes are thoughtfully provided at the bottom of the barrel for easy water drainage after washing.
- Base Unit: The base unit contains electronic components and must not be immersed in water. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth only.

8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit not powering on | Power cord not connected; Power outlet malfunction | Ensure power cord is securely plugged into both the unit and the wall outlet. Test the outlet with another device to confirm it is functional. |
| Cleaning cycle not starting | Cat detected by sensors; Litter level too high/low; App settings preventing cycle | Ensure no cat is near or inside the unit. Adjust the litter level to be within the MIN/MAX indicators. Check app settings for cleaning schedules, delays, or paused operations. |
| Litter not clumping properly / sticking to bottom | Litter type unsuitable; Insufficient delay before cleaning | Use high-quality, fast-clumping cat litter. Increase the cleaning cycle delay in the app (e.g., to 15 minutes or more) to allow clumps sufficient time to harden. |
| Odor leakage | Waste bin full; Waste bag not sealed; Unit needs cleaning | Change the waste bag promptly. Ensure the waste bag is properly installed and sealed within the bin. Perform a thorough cleaning of the entire unit, especially the barrel and waste bin area. |
| App connection issues | Incorrect Wi-Fi band; Weak signal; App not updated | Ensure your home Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. Move the unit closer to your Wi-Fi router for a stronger signal. Update the DOEL Smart app to the latest version. If issues persist, try re-pairing the device through the app. |
