Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to install your ASMAX Z1 headset onto your helmet.
- Prepare your helmet: Remove the cheek padding from your helmet.
- Attach the magnetic mount:
- For helmets with a thin edge (less than 5mm), use the metal clamp method.
- For thicker helmets, use the 3M glue plate method.

- Install speakers and microphone:
- Attach the Velcro to the inside of your helmet near your ears.
- Place the speaker pads on top of the Velcro for optimal sound positioning.
- Choose between the hybrid microphone (for open-face helmets) or the wired microphone (for full-face helmets). Attach the chosen microphone inside the helmet, ensuring it's positioned near your mouth without obstructing airflow.

- Connect wiring: Connect the speaker and microphone wires to the magnetic mount. Ensure all wires are neatly tucked away within the helmet padding to avoid loose wires.
- Reinstall cheek padding: Once all components are installed and wires are secured, reinsert the cheek padding into your helmet.

Operating Instructions
Power On/Off and Bluetooth Pairing
To power on the device, simply press and hold both the intercom button and the function button simultaneously. The LED lights will flash, indicating pairing mode. Open your phone's Bluetooth settings and select the ASMAX Z1 to connect. Once connected, the device will confirm.

Intercom Modes (Free Mode & Group Mode)
The ASMAX Z1 offers two primary intercom modes:
- Free Mode: A public channel allowing up to 10 riders to instantly connect within Bluetooth range without needing to create a specific group. Simply short press the intercom button to join.
- Group Mode (Mesh Communication): Uses Mesh and Bluetooth 5.3 technology for more stable connections over greater distances (up to 1.8 km). Riders can join or leave these channels without causing disruptions. To start Group Mode, press and hold the intercom button. The smart voice system will confirm how many members have joined.

Knock-on Function (Group Intercom)
To quickly join a group intercom, double-click the function button on your device to activate the "knock-on" function. Once activated, you can simply knock on the device to initiate or join a group call. Ensure this function is enabled in the ASMAX World app.
Universal Pairing
The ASMAX Z1 supports universal pairing, allowing you to intercom with other brands of headsets. Put the other brand's headset into pairing mode, then long-press the function key on your Z1 device to enter pairing mode. Double-click the intercom key to put it into universal pairing mode. Once connected, you can double-press the function key to leave the universal pairing connection.
Voice Control
The headset supports intelligent voice operation for hands-free control. Simply say "Hi, Max" followed by a command. Examples include:
- "Hi, Max, Music On" / "Music Off" / "Next Track" / "Previous Track"
- "Hi, Max, Answer Phone" / "Hang Up Phone"
- "Hi, Max, Group Mesh" / "Free Mode" / "End Intercom"
- "Hi, Max, Volume Up" / "Volume Down"
- "Hi, Max, Phone Pairing"

Audio Multitasking
The ASMAX Z1 supports audio multitasking, allowing you to simultaneously use group intercom, listen to music, and receive navigation instructions. This is managed through the intelligent IoT Ecological APP.
