Operating Instructions
1. Data Transfer Mode
When connected to a computer via the USB 3.0 Type-C cable, the docking station functions as an external drive enclosure. It supports USB 3.0 speeds up to 5Gbps and UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) for enhanced transfer performance.
- Insert one or two drives into the bays.
- Connect the docking station to your computer.
- The drives will appear as removable storage devices on your computer.
- You can now drag and drop files, or use them as any other connected storage.

2. Offline Cloning
The docking station supports offline cloning, allowing you to duplicate a source drive to a target drive without needing a computer connection.
- Prepare Drives: Ensure the docking station is powered off and disconnected from any computer. Insert the source drive (the drive you want to copy from) into Slot A and the target drive (the drive you want to copy to) into Slot B. Note: The target drive must be equal to or larger in capacity than the source drive.
- Power On: Turn on the docking station.
- Initiate Cloning: Press and hold the 'Clone' button for approximately 3-5 seconds until the cloning progress LEDs (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) begin to flash.
- Confirm Cloning: Briefly press the 'Clone' button again to confirm. The cloning process will begin, and the progress LEDs will illuminate sequentially to indicate completion percentage.
- Completion: Once all four progress LEDs are solid, the cloning process is complete. Power off the docking station before removing the drives.
Important: All data on the target drive will be erased during the cloning process. Back up any important data on the target drive before proceeding.

3. RGB Lighting Effects
The docking station features dynamic RGB lighting that provides visual feedback on its status:
- Active Mode: When a hard drive is actively working (reading or writing data), the RGB LED lights will flash rapidly.
- Idle/Sleep Mode: When hard drives are in sleep mode or have been removed, the RGB lights transition to a breathing mode, indicating a low-power state.

4. Automatic Sleep Function
To conserve energy and extend drive lifespan, the docking station will automatically enter sleep mode after 30 minutes of inactivity. The RGB lights will switch to breathing mode when in sleep state.

5. Hot-Swapping
The Inateck SA02003C supports hot-swapping, meaning you can insert or remove drives while the docking station is powered on and connected to a computer, without needing to restart the system. This feature is tool-free, driver-free, and plug-and-play.

Troubleshooting
- Issue: Drive not recognized by computer.
- Solution: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected and the docking station is powered on. Check the USB cable connection to both the docking station and the computer. Try a different USB port on your computer. For new drives, they may need to be initialized and formatted in Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (Mac) before use.
- Issue: Offline cloning fails or does not start.
- Solution: Verify that the source drive is in Slot A and the target drive is in Slot B. Ensure the target drive's capacity is equal to or larger than the source drive's capacity. Make sure the docking station is disconnected from the computer during cloning. Follow the cloning steps precisely, including holding and then briefly pressing the clone button.
- Issue: Slow data transfer speeds.
- Solution: Ensure you are connected to a USB 3.0 port on your computer. Older USB 2.0 ports will result in slower speeds. Verify that your operating system and drivers support UASP for optimal performance. The actual speed may also depend on the performance of the hard drives themselves.
- Issue: RGB lights are not working as expected.
- Solution: Check if the docking station is powered on. The RGB lights indicate drive activity; if no drives are active or inserted, they may be in breathing mode. Ensure the drives are properly seated.
