2. Important Safety Instructions

4. Setup
Before first use, follow these steps:
- Unpack: Carefully remove the toaster and all packaging materials.
- Placement: Place the toaster on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials. Ensure adequate ventilation around the toaster.
- Initial Operation (Burn-off): It is recommended to operate the toaster without bread for a few cycles on the highest setting (7) to burn off any manufacturing residues. A slight odor or smoke may be present during this process; this is normal and will dissipate. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.
- Clean Crumb Tray: After the initial burn-off, allow the toaster to cool, then remove and clean the crumb tray. Reinsert the crumb tray securely.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Basic Toasting
- Insert Bread: Place slices of bread, bagels, or other items into the extra-wide toasting slots. The slots are designed to accommodate various bread types, including thick bagels and artisan slices.
- Select Shade: Turn the browning control dial to your desired shade setting, from 1 (lightest) to 7 (darkest).
- Lower Lever: Press the high-lift lever down until it locks into place. The toasting cycle will begin.
- Retrieve Toast: Once the toasting cycle is complete, the toast will automatically pop up. Use the high-lift lever to elevate smaller items for easier and safer retrieval.

5.2 Function Buttons
- Bagel Button: Press this button when toasting bagels. This function toasts the cut side of the bagel while gently warming the outer side. The indicator light will illuminate when active.
- Defrost Button: Use this button for toasting frozen items. This function adds extra time to the toasting cycle to properly defrost and then toast the item. The indicator light will illuminate when active.
- Cancel Button: Press this button at any time to stop the toasting cycle and eject the toast. The indicator light will turn off.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your toaster.
- Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the toaster from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Clean Crumb Tray:
- Slide out the removable crumb tray located at the bottom of the toaster.
- Discard crumbs. Wipe the tray with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Slide the crumb tray back into place securely.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the toaster with a soft, damp cloth. For stainless steel surfaces, use a stainless steel cleaner if necessary, and polish with a dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Interior Cleaning: Do not insert any objects into the toasting slots to clean. If food becomes lodged, unplug the toaster and carefully invert it to shake out crumbs.
