4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery housing cover at the rear of the power cleaner.
  2. Slide a charged DEWALT 20V or 60V FLEXVOLT battery into the compartment until it clicks into place.
  3. Close the battery housing cover securely to protect the battery from water.

4.2 Water Supply Connection

The power cleaner can draw water from a garden hose or a separate water source like a bucket.

Option A: Garden Hose Connection

  1. Attach the quick connect garden hose adapter to your garden hose.
  2. Connect the adapter to the water inlet on the power cleaner until it snaps securely.
  3. Ensure the garden hose is connected to a water supply and turned on.

Option B: Drawing from a Water Source (e.g., Bucket)

  1. Connect the water suction hose to the water inlet on the power cleaner.
  2. Place the filter ball end of the suction hose into a bucket or other water container. Ensure the filter is fully submerged.

4.3 Spray Wand and Nozzle Attachment

  1. Push the spray wand into the front of the power cleaner until it clicks and twists to lock.
  2. Select the desired nozzle tip (40°, 25°, 15°, or Turbo) and push it into the end of the spray wand until it clicks securely.

4.4 Soap Dispenser Attachment (Optional)

  1. Fill the soap dispenser bottle with appropriate pressure washer detergent.
  2. Remove the spray wand from the power cleaner.
  3. Attach the soap dispenser bottle to the front of the power cleaner, twisting to secure it.

5. Operation

5.1 Power Settings

The DEWALT DCPW1000B features two power settings: Low and High. Use the switch located on the back of the unit to toggle between these settings based on your cleaning needs.

5.2 Nozzle Selection

Choose the appropriate nozzle for your task:

  • 40° Nozzle: For wide, gentle cleaning on delicate surfaces.

Note: While the product is rated for 1000 PSI, actual maximum pressure may vary depending on the nozzle used and water supply conditions. Some users report effective pressure around 550 PSI for typical cleaning tasks.

5.3 Cleaning Techniques

  • Always test the spray on an inconspicuous area first to avoid damaging the surface.
  • Hold the nozzle a safe distance from the surface and gradually move closer until the desired cleaning effect is achieved.
  • Use the soap dispenser for applying detergent, then switch to a rinse nozzle for thorough cleaning.
  • For vehicles, decks, ATVs, and lawn equipment, use appropriate nozzles and detergents.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning and Storage
