- Firmware Updates: Check the Vicohome app periodically for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- SD Card Management: If using an SD card, periodically review and delete old recordings to free up space, or enable loop recording if supported.
Troubleshooting
- Camera not connecting to Wi-Fi:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4Ghz. Check Wi-Fi signal strength at the camera's location. Restart your router and the camera. Re-attempt the pairing process.
- Poor video quality:
- Check your Wi-Fi signal strength. Clean the camera lens. Ensure there are no obstructions in the camera's field of view.
- Motion detection not working or too many false alarms:
- Adjust the motion detection sensitivity in the app. Define specific detection zones to exclude areas with frequent, irrelevant movement (e.g., trees swaying). Ensure the camera is positioned correctly to capture desired activity.
- Short battery life:
- Frequent motion detection events, live viewing, or cold weather can reduce battery life. Ensure the camera is fully charged. Consider reducing motion detection sensitivity or frequency of live view. If using a solar panel, ensure it receives adequate direct sunlight.
- Two-way audio issues:
- Check your phone's volume and the camera's microphone/speaker settings in the app. Ensure a stable internet connection for clear audio transmission.
