- To power off: Press and hold the Power/Menu button until the display turns off. The device also features automatic shutdown after a period of inactivity.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Basic Measurement
- Ensure the device is powered on.
- Place the probe firmly and perpendicularly onto the surface to be measured.
- The device will automatically detect the substrate type (Fe or NFe) and display the coating thickness reading on the LCD.
- For continuous measurement, keep the probe on the surface and move it slowly. The display will update in real-time.
6.2. Unit Selection
The device supports measurements in micrometers (µm), millimeters (mm), and mils (mil).
- Short press the Menu button to enter the unit selection mode.
- Use the Up/Down Arrows to cycle through the available units (mil, µm, mm).
- Press the Menu button again to confirm your selection and exit.

7. Calibration
Regular calibration ensures the accuracy of your thickness gauge. The device comes factory-calibrated, but re-calibration may be necessary for specific applications or if accuracy issues arise.
7.1. Zero-Point Calibration
- Ensure the device is powered on and in measurement mode.
- Place the probe directly onto the bare ferrous (Fe) or non-ferrous (NFe) calibration substrate (without any coating).
- Press the ZERO button. The display should read "0.0" or very close to it.
- Repeat for the other substrate type if necessary.
7.2. Multi-Point Calibration (using calibration sheets)
- Perform Zero-Point Calibration first.
- Place one of the provided calibration sheets (e.g., 50µm) onto the appropriate calibration substrate (Fe or NFe).
- Place the probe firmly onto the calibration sheet.
- Press the CAL button. The display will show a value.
- Use the Up/Down Arrows to adjust the displayed value to match the known thickness of the calibration sheet.
- Press CAL again to confirm.
- Repeat this process for other calibration sheets and both substrate types for comprehensive calibration.
8. Data Storage and Review
The device can store measurement data for later review.
- To save a measurement: After taking a reading, the device automatically stores it. Consult the full manual for specific instructions on manual saving if available.
- To review stored data: Press the Menu button and navigate to the "Review Data" or "Memory" option using the Up/Down Arrows. Press Menu to select.
- Use the Up/Down Arrows to scroll through stored readings.
- Press CLEAR to exit the review mode.
9. Maintenance
9.1. Cleaning
- Wipe the device body with a soft, dry cloth.
- Ensure the probe tip is clean and free of debris for accurate measurements. Use a soft brush or cloth if necessary.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
9.2. Storage
- Store the device in its protective pouch when not in use.
- Keep the device in a dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
