1. Introduction

2. Setup Guide
2.1. Package Contents
Before beginning, ensure all components are present:
- 1x SLZB-06p7 Zigbee Ethernet USB Adapter
- 1x Antenna
- 1x Screwdriver (optional)
- 2x Screws (optional)
- 2x Adhesive Tapes (optional)
- 1x Screw Fix Helper & Manual QR

2.2. Powering the Device
The SLZB-06p7 can be powered using either Power over Ethernet (PoE) or a Type-C USB connection. A microUSB-Type-C adapter is provided for convenience.

2.3. Initial Configuration and Firmware
The device comes pre-flashed. You can change its operation mode (Zigbee Coordinator, Zigbee Router, Matter-over-Thread, Bluetooth BT Proxy) and connection mode (Ethernet, WiFi, USB) via its web interface. Ensure the correct firmware is installed for your desired mode of operation.

To access the web interface, connect the device to your network (via Ethernet or WiFi) or directly via USB. The web interface allows you to:
- View general status and device information.
- Change radio mode (Zigbee Coordinator, Zigbee Router, Matter-over-Thread).
- Enable/disable Bluetooth BT Proxy.
- Switch between Ethernet, WiFi, and USB connection modes.
- Update firmware remotely.

2.4. LED Indicators
The device features several LED indicators to show its status:
- Blue LED: Operation mode LED. On when the device is in Zigbee to USB mode, off when in Zigbee to Ethernet mode.
- Yellow LED: Power LED. Illuminates when the unit is connected to a power source.
- Green LED: Zigbee2MQTT connection LED. On when Zigbee2MQTT successfully connects to the device and establishes the Zigbee network.
- Red LED: Reserved for further use with Zigbee2MQTT.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1. Home Assistant Integration
The SLZB-06p7 is designed to work seamlessly with Home Assistant. You can add it as a Zigbee 3.0 gateway. For Matter-over-Thread functionality, specific add-ons are required in Home Assistant.

Steps for Matter Integration in Home Assistant:
- Navigate to Settings > Devices & Services in Home Assistant.
- Click Add Integration and search for "Matter". Select Matter (BETA).
- Check "Use the official Matter Server Supervisor add-on" and click Submit. The add-on installation will begin.
- Once installed, Matter will be listed under your configured integrations.
Steps for OpenThread Border Router Add-on in Home Assistant:
- Go to Settings > Add-ons.
- Navigate to the Add-on Store and search for "OpenThread".
- Click on OpenThread Border Router and then Install.
- After installation, go to the Configuration tab.
- Adjust settings:
- Device: Choose the serial port of your device (e.g.,
/dev/serial/by-id/usb-Silicon_Labs_CP2102N_USB_to_UART_Bridge_Controller_...). - Baudrate: Set to 460800 (this depends on firmware settings).
- Hardware flow control: Set to OFF.
- Automatically flash firmware: Set to OFF.
- OTBR firewall: Keep it ON.
- Nat64: Set to OFF.
- Device: Choose the serial port of your device (e.g.,
- Save the settings.
- Go to the Info tab of the add-on and click Start. It is recommended to activate Watchdog to automatically restart the add-on in case of an error.
- Check the Logs tab to confirm the add-on has started successfully.
Setting up Thread Integration:
- Navigate to Settings > Devices & Services.
- You should see "Open Thread Border Router" and "Thread" as new integrations.
- Click on the "Thread" integration.
- Click Configure.
- Under "OpenThread Border Router", click the three dots and select "Add to preferred network". Confirm by clicking OK.
- Click the three dots again and choose "Use router for Android + iOS credentials". A phone icon should appear next to the router.
4. Maintenance
4.1. Firmware Updates
The CC2652P7 and ESP32 chips within the SLZB-06p7 can be updated remotely via the device's web interface. Regularly checking for and applying firmware updates is recommended to ensure optimal performance and access to the latest features and security patches.

5. Troubleshooting
5.1. General Issues
If you encounter issues with your SLZB-06p7, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Connection Drops: Ensure stable power supply (PoE or Type-C) and network connection. For USB connections, verify the cable integrity.
- Integration Problems: Double-check all settings in the Home Assistant web interface, especially serial port and baudrate for OpenThread Border Router.
- Device Not Found: Confirm that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone for initial Matter device pairing. Ensure the Matter device is in pairing mode.
- Firmware Related: Verify that the correct firmware (e.g., Matter/Thread) is installed on your SLZB-06p7. Experimental firmware modes may have stability issues.
5.2. Syncing Thread Credentials
If Thread credentials are not syncing correctly between your phone and Home Assistant, follow these steps:
- On your Android phone, open the Home Assistant app.
- Go to Settings > Companion app.
- Scroll down to Troubleshooting and click Sync Thread credentials.
- Wait for the "Home Assistant and this device use the same network" message to appear. If you get a different message, repeat the sync process.
