3.2 Binding Procedure

To establish a connection between your FS-SR12 receiver and your transmitter, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure your transmitter is powered off.
  2. Connect a binding plug (not included, typically comes with the transmitter or can be purchased separately) to the BIND port on the FS-SR12 receiver. Alternatively, press and hold the BIND button while powering on the receiver.
  3. Apply power to the FS-SR12 receiver (3.5V to 9V DC). The LED on the receiver should start flashing rapidly, indicating it is in binding mode.
  4. While the receiver LED is flashing, power on your compatible Flysky transmitter.
  5. Navigate to the binding menu on your transmitter (refer to your transmitter's manual for specific instructions).
  6. Initiate the binding process on the transmitter.
  7. Once binding is successful, the LED on the receiver will stop flashing and remain solid, indicating a stable connection.
  8. Power off both the receiver and the transmitter.
  9. Remove the binding plug (if used) from the receiver.
  10. Power on the transmitter first, then the receiver, to confirm the connection. The receiver LED should be solid.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your FS-SR12 receiver, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Receiver LED not solid after binding.Binding failed or signal loss.
  • Re-attempt the binding procedure carefully.
  • Ensure the transmitter is powered on and within range.
  • Check for interference from other 2.4GHz devices.
No response from servos/ESCs.Incorrect wiring, no power to receiver/servos, or incorrect signal output mode.
  • Verify all connections (power, signal, ground) are correct.
  • Ensure the receiver is receiving adequate power (3.5V-9V DC).
  • Check the signal output mode setting on your transmitter (PWM, PPM, i-BUS, S.BUS) matches your connected devices.
Reduced range or intermittent signal.Poor antenna placement, physical obstruction, or environmental interference.
  • Adjust antenna placement to be 90 degrees apart and away from conductive materials.
  • Perform a range test in an open area.
  • Avoid operating near large metal structures, power lines, or other strong RF sources.
Receiver gets hot.Overvoltage or short circuit.
  • Immediately disconnect power.
  • Verify input voltage is within the specified range (3.5V-9V DC).
  • Check for any short circuits in the wiring.
