3. Setup
3.1 Connectivity Options
The V6 Max offers flexible connectivity to suit various setups:
- 2.4 GHz Wireless: For a rapid 1000 Hz polling rate, insert the 2.4 GHz receiver into your device's USB port.
- Bluetooth 5.1: Connect to up to 3 devices simultaneously for seamless multitasking. Pair your keyboard via Bluetooth settings on your device.
- Wired (USB-C): Use the provided USB-C cable for a direct, stable connection and to charge the keyboard's internal battery.

3.2 Operating System Switch
The V6 Max features a physical switch on the back to toggle between Windows and macOS layouts, ensuring full compatibility and correct key functions for your preferred operating system.

4. Operating Your Keyboard
4.1 Key Remapping with Keychron Launcher
Customize your keyboard layout and assign macro commands using the Keychron Launcher web app. Connect your V6 Max via cable, open the web app, and drag-and-drop functions to remap any key for a fluid workflow across macOS, Windows, or Linux. You can also create custom keymaps with open-sourced QMK firmware.

4.2 Hot-swappable Switches
The V6 Max allows you to hot-swap any pre-lubed tactile brown switch with almost all 3-pin and 5-pin MX mechanical switches on the market without soldering. This feature enables easy customization of your typing experience. The PCB-mounted screw-in stabilizers for larger keys (Space bar, Shift, Enter, Delete) ensure less wobbliness and smooth performance.

4.3 RGB Backlighting and PBT Keycaps
The unique OSA profile double-shot non-backlight shine-through PBT keycaps offer excellent oil resistance and enhance typing feel, preventing legends from fading. The south-facing RGB lighting allows you to adjust hue, saturation, brightness, effect speed, and different modes using combination keys.

4.4 Programmable Knob
The V6 Max features a programmable knob, typically used for volume control (turn to adjust, press to mute). This knob can also be customized via the Keychron Launcher web app to perform other functions.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Keychron V6 Max keyboard, regular maintenance is recommended:
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe down the keycaps and case with a soft, lint-free cloth. For deeper cleaning, remove keycaps using the provided keycap puller and clean underneath.
- Switch and Keycap Replacement: Utilize the included keycap and switch puller tools for safe removal and installation of switches and keycaps. Refer to section 4.2 for details on hot-swapping.
- Battery Care: The keyboard uses a 4000 mAh rechargeable Li-polymer battery. Avoid extreme temperatures and fully discharging the battery frequently to prolong its lifespan.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Keychron V6 Max, refer to the following common solutions:
- Connectivity Issues:
- Ensure the keyboard is charged.
- For 2.4 GHz, ensure the receiver is properly inserted and the keyboard is in 2.4 GHz mode.
- For Bluetooth, ensure the keyboard is in Bluetooth mode and correctly paired with your device. Try unpairing and re-pairing if issues persist.
- For wired, ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and your device.
- RGB Lighting Not Working/Incorrect:
- Check keyboard brightness settings using combination keys (refer to quick user guide).
- Ensure the keyboard is not in a low-power mode that disables lighting.
- Use the Keychron Launcher software to reset or reconfigure lighting effects.
- Keys Not Responding:
- If a specific key is not responding, carefully remove the keycap and switch using the provided tools. Re-insert the switch firmly to ensure proper contact.
- If the issue persists, try swapping the problematic switch with a known working switch to determine if the switch or the PCB socket is at fault.
