4.2. GSM001XL Gas Spring Arm Assembly
- Choose Mounting Option: Decide between C-clamp or grommet base installation. The C-clamp is suitable for desk edges, while the grommet base uses an existing hole in your desk. Both support desk thickness from 0.39" to 1.77".
- Install Desk Mount: Attach the chosen C-clamp or grommet base to your desk according to the specific instructions provided in the included quick start guide. Ensure it is securely fastened.
- Attach Arm to Mount: Slide the gas spring arm onto the installed desk mount post.
- Attach VESA Plate to Monitor: Align the VESA plate with the mounting holes on the back of your monitor (75x75mm or 100x100mm). Use the appropriate screws and spacers from the hardware kit to secure the plate.
- Mount Monitor to Arm: Slide the VESA plate with the attached monitor onto the arm's VESA head. Ensure it locks into place.
- Adjust Gas Spring Tension: If the monitor does not stay in position (sinks or floats up), adjust the gas spring tension using the provided Allen wrench. Turn clockwise to increase tension for heavier monitors, counter-clockwise to decrease for lighter monitors.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the stand with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
- Check Connections: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight and secure. Re-tighten if necessary.
- Gas Spring Adjustment (GSM001XL): If the monitor begins to sag or float, re-adjust the gas spring tension as described in the setup section.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Monitor sags or does not stay at desired height (GSM001XL) | Gas spring tension is too low for monitor weight. | Increase gas spring tension by turning the adjustment screw clockwise with the provided Allen wrench. |
| Monitor floats up or is difficult to push down (GSM001XL) | Gas spring tension is too high for monitor weight. | Decrease gas spring tension by turning the adjustment screw counter-clockwise. |
| Monitor is not stable or wobbles (MF001) | Pole not securely attached to base, or VESA plate not tight on monitor. | Ensure all screws are tightened, especially those connecting the pole to the base and the VESA plate to the monitor. |
| Difficulty adjusting tilt/swivel | Joints are too tight. | Loosen the corresponding adjustment screws slightly. |
