1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the proper use, setup, operation, and maintenance of your Samsonite Nuon Spinner 55/20 EXP suitcase. Please read this manual thoroughly before using your luggage to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

2. Setup

2.1 Initial Inspection

Upon receiving your Samsonite Nuon Spinner, carefully inspect it for any signs of damage that may have occurred during shipping. If you find any damage, contact your retailer immediately.

2.2 Setting the TSA Combination Lock

Your suitcase is equipped with an integrated TSA-approved combination lock. The initial combination is typically set to 0-0-0.

1. Open the lock by sliding the release button (or pulling the shackle, depending on the lock type) while the dials are set to 0-0-0.
2. Locate the reset button or lever. This is usually a small, recessed button that requires a pen or pointed object to press.
3. Press and hold the reset button/lever.
4. While holding the reset button/lever, set your desired 3-digit combination by rotating the dials. Choose a memorable combination.
5. Release the reset button/lever. Your new combination is now set.
6. Test the new combination by scrambling the dials and then entering your new combination to open the lock.

Important: Do not forget your combination. Samsonite does not retain personal lock combinations.

2.3 Expanding the Suitcase

The Nuon Spinner 55/20 EXP features an expansion zipper to provide additional packing capacity. To expand the suitcase, locate the secondary zipper running along the perimeter of the main compartment. Unzip this zipper completely to extend the depth of the suitcase.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Using the Spinner Wheels

Your Nuon Spinner is equipped with suspension double wheels designed for smooth, multi-directional movement. To operate, simply push or pull the suitcase in any direction. For optimal performance, use all four wheels when moving the suitcase, allowing it to glide effortlessly beside you.

3.2 Extending and Retracting the Handle

The suitcase features a double tube telescopic handle. To extend the handle, press the button located on the top of the handle grip and pull upwards until it locks into your desired height. To retract, press the button again and push the handle downwards until it is fully nested within the suitcase body.

3.3 Utilizing Internal Compartments

The interior of your Nuon Spinner is designed for organized packing:

• Fixed Divider Pad: A fixed divider pad is located in the top compartment to separate belongings and keep them secure.
• Removable Bottom Divider Pad: The bottom compartment includes a removable divider pad with a U-shaped pocket, offering flexibility for packing larger items or creating separate sections.
• Integrated USB Ports (Type A & C): For convenient charging of electronic devices, connect your power bank (not included) to the internal USB cable. The external USB ports (Type A and C) allow you to connect your devices for charging without opening the suitcase.

3.4 Anti-Theft Zipper

The main compartment features an anti-theft zipper designed to resist forced entry. While this zipper provides enhanced security, it is still recommended to use the integrated TSA lock for maximum protection of your belongings.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Exterior

To clean the polycarbonate shell, wipe with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish. Dry thoroughly after cleaning.

4.2 Cleaning the Interior

The interior Recyclex lining can be spot cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Allow to air dry completely before closing the suitcase.

4.3 Wheel and Handle Care

Periodically check the wheels for debris (hair, lint, etc.) and remove them to ensure smooth rolling. The telescopic handle mechanism should be kept free of dirt and obstructions. Do not force the handle if it feels stiff; clean the tracks and try again.

4.4 Zipper Care

Keep zippers clean and free of debris. If a zipper becomes stiff, apply a small amount of zipper lubricant or wax to the teeth.

5. Troubleshooting

• Lock will not open: Ensure the correct combination is entered. If you forgot your combination, there is no master key provided to the user. You may need to contact Samsonite customer service for assistance, or a locksmith.
• Handle is stiff or stuck: Check for any visible obstructions in the handle tubes. Ensure the release button is fully depressed when extending or retracting. Do not apply excessive force.
• Wheels are not rolling smoothly: Inspect wheels for trapped debris (e.g., hair, string). Clean the wheel axles if necessary.
• Zipper is difficult to move: Check for fabric caught in the zipper teeth. Apply a zipper lubricant if the zipper is clean but still stiff.
• USB ports not charging: Ensure your power bank is properly connected inside the suitcase and is charged. Check the connection of your device to the external USB port.
