Cooking Tips

  • For best results, fill the stoneware pot between half and three-quarters full.
  • Avoid lifting the lid frequently during cooking, as this releases heat and can extend cooking times.
  • Root vegetables (carrots, potatoes) cook slower than meat. Place them at the bottom of the pot and cover with liquid.
  • Dairy products and fresh herbs should be added during the last 30 minutes of cooking to prevent curdling or loss of flavor.
  • Always ensure meat and poultry are cooked to safe internal temperatures.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Slow cooker does not turn on. Not plugged in; power outlet not working; unit malfunction. Ensure the unit is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check your home's circuit breaker. If problem persists, contact customer support.
Food is not cooking properly or taking too long. Lid not sealed properly; incorrect temperature setting; pot overfilled; frequent lid lifting. Ensure the lid is seated correctly. Verify you have selected HIGH or LOW, not WARM. Do not overfill the pot. Avoid lifting the lid during cooking.
Food is burning on the bottom. Too little liquid; cooking on HIGH for too long; ingredients not suitable for slow cooking. Ensure adequate liquid is used. Consider using the LOW setting for longer cook times. Some ingredients may require more liquid or different cooking methods.
Stoneware pot has cracks or chips. Impact damage; sudden temperature changes. Discontinue use immediately. A cracked or chipped pot is unsafe. Contact customer support for a replacement.
