4. Setup and Installation

The PALONE LT806S offers flexible installation options for various environments.

4.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the bug zapper using the Type-C cable for optimal performance.

  • Solar Charging (Integrated Panel): The bug zapper has a 1.5W solar panel on its top. Place the unit in direct sunlight for charging.
  • Solar Charging (Separate Panel): Connect the separate 4W solar panel to the bug zapper using the provided 3.5m cable. Position the separate solar panel in an area with maximum direct sunlight exposure. You can use the ground pole to stake it into the ground or mount it on a wall.
  • Type-C Charging: Connect the Type-C USB charging cable to the charging port on the bug zapper and plug the other end into a compatible USB power adapter (not included).

Note: Charging for 2-3 hours typically provides 6-8 hours of operation, with a full charge lasting approximately 24 hours.

4.2 Placement

  • Outdoor Use: Hang the bug zapper using its integrated hook on a porch, patio, or near a camping area. Ensure the separate solar panel (if used) receives ample direct sunlight. The 3.5m cable allows flexible placement of the solar panel.
  • Indoor Use: Place the bug zapper on a stable surface in areas where insects are present, such as a kitchen or living room. Ensure it is not near food preparation areas or directly above dining tables.
  • For optimal insect attraction, place the zapper away from human activity areas. Insects are drawn to the light, so placing it too close to where people gather might attract them towards you first.

5. Operation

The bug zapper features a simple control switch to select between its operating modes.

5.1 Operating Modes

The device has three modes, controlled by the On-Off key (switch) located on the unit:

  1. Bug Zapper Mode: (Left position) Activates the UV light and the 4500V electric grid to attract and eliminate flying insects. This mode is effective for mosquito and insect control.
  2. OFF Mode: (Middle position) Turns the device completely off. Use this mode when not in use, during cleaning, or for storage.
  3. Lighting Mode: (Right position) Activates the white LED light, providing ambient illumination. This mode does not activate the zapping function.
